Finally, 4 songs freakin mastered for ya'll to boogie to. And just in time for halloween.

I'm on the vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Special guest appearence by bionic layin down the drum tracks on song 3. Luke Ryan- the engineer threw in a bunch of his stuff into the mix, such as old chinese instruments, percussions and strange things that go boing er boing er boing er...

The band is called "Frequent Flyer" and the c.d. is called Jilin Province Vodoo.. I hope ya'll enjoy.. Also, it's strongly encouraged to listen to it with a very good set of headphones because that's the kind of music it is..

Trying to find a genre to call it wasn't too easy. Its just strange and abstract.

I'm very content with it. I think its a solid cd even though its less than 20mins long. There's plenty of instrumets filling the blanks.

So, I suppose you're saying that I age like a dog then. Mind if I lift my leg on your suitcases and try to hump your leg once? C'mon now, I've only got 5 more years to live..

Oh man, this thread. So much for supporting your fellow bbmb folks.I'm sorry that I"m not Jayzeeeeeee or goastface killa but I try. I am a part of this board and I do read you're posts, unlike those cool dudes.

First of the Ninth would be your opening track in concert, I'm sure. It lends itself to lighting and smoke effects. Like King Diamond or some shit. It's a sweet title, too.

I only say this next thing because I like you Eric, and think you should be doing the music thing as well as you can. There's about one hundred pieces of great songs in there. Like a groove sneaks up on me during Laopo and Silver Oak Leaf, and then it's gone. It winds up making the songs work against themselves. This is just me, though.

It must be hard to balance having ideas, and getting them out before they vanish. I know the band isn't complete, so I'd say you've got an incredible sketch here. But it's frustrating listening when something good vanishes to the detriment of the piece that follows it. I suppose it's quite like jazz in it's free-form nature.

The key I'd say is de-and-reconstructing what you have here, but then, what do I know? You're definitely approaching your music in a way I can appreciate. Don't stop now. (y)

expert advice kid. What do you know about music? You know enough to have in depth discussion about the music that you both like and dislike. I sometimes wonder if you play cause I think that somewhere inside, you've got talent hidden.

You've given me inspiration to go ahead and call myself a liar for saying that the cd is complete. Before reading your post, I was listening to it last night and was thinking the same thing about both SOL and laopo. I was thinking that they're both good jams but not lengthy enough. I could easily add at least two more minutes of groove and not make them seem to be tedious.

My drumming could be better too. Bionic nailed it on SOL though. He says he could have done better but he just showed up and fuckin laid it down. Honestly, it would be more complete if I had a drummer instead of me on a drum machine. A full band in general will make it complete. I also think I should squeeze at least six more jams and then I could call this cd a rap.

Thanks for the wonderful insight and thanks Mikizee for having a listen too.

Perfect. That is exactly how I felt when listening to it. It may be because I like my crunchy distorted metal geetar a bit more structured.

Also I think it can be mixed down again. I know you play guitar and that is the forefront of the music, but the bass and drums are drowned out waay to much. It needs to be a little more even.

Then again, what do I know, I can't remember the last time I picked up a guitar let alone recorded anything.

All of this insight is being taken into consideration. I've only made a few 4 track recordings with my old band and also just dabbled here and there with some guitar recordings in my time so this is all new to me still. All are excellent pointers for me to tell the engineer when I make the final cd. I'm sure with all the advice, this won't be a clunker and jam your socks off.

Also, the reason why the guitar seems to drown the bass out is probably cause the bass is my guitar. I dont have a bass so, I was playing my guitar using bass effects. Yep, it's time to hit craigslist up and see if I can find a drummer and bassist to complete Frequent Flyer. Is that a good band name?

Also, are the vocals ok? I've really never tried to sing either.

y'know, i'm still up for that collab

if you wanna, i have an idea: i make a drum beat and you write something over it, guitar & singing, and i can play bass so i could do that, and maybe a little scratching in breaks. whaddya think?

oh and im waiting for those mp3s :D

silver oak leaf has alot of potential...you just need to fix your damn vocals!! But it does have potential Im feeling the instrumental.

Its all about what you think though, after all no one should be a bigger fan of your music than you.

Hey, I'm up for anything. Sounds like a great idea. One thing though, need to wait on the mp3s cause the only working computer that had those songs on was destroyed yesterday. Refer to thread in bf. :(

To mr.G. On yeah, ain't no lie in working on the vocals. I pulled those straight out my ass. Those were vocals for a totally different song that I scrapped and that recording was just a one time deal. I should've practiced a little before making a one time recording and posting it. Its how it goes though. Take in all the advice to make some quality jams.

And thanks to rock, kid p, bionic and hymen lurga, I've decided to put more work into both laopo and silver oak leaf. Eh, added more lyrics and jam to both of em.

Right now, just to give you some input of what I'm singing about, its nothing but my poetry of my travels and experiences.

These are the lyrics for Laopo deux. I'll write the lyrics for Laopo on the inlay.

"Laopo deux"

The jade creek was green
Lover's valley lane
Emerald colored stone
huang yellow shan

Aqua green serpant shimmering besides us
We placed our stones atop the boulder
And rested our heads on each others shoulders

Feline shaped ovals with blackened iris
Zeijiang treetop rows
Emerald valley streams
That was our day of midnight
Awake and breathing the air exhaled from our dreams

Bump...By popular request from Zergadickitupikkkaaa, wanting more spam for her pineapple and eggs.

Added two more songs, "Rooftops" and "The Eagle Shits".

Both very abstract. If you like the Melvins and Mr. Bungle type stuff then you may get into these two songs. These are basically just prototypes though. I'm working on more solid and tight versions for both of these ATM. They're still a good listen though.

Got some pics added to. Some more friends added would be cool, check out "This Moment in Black History" on my friends list to, if you don't mind when ya got the time. They're a band from Cleveland Oh and I'm good friends with the drummer.

edit: I just replaced "The Eagle Shits" with "Can't You See", which is one of the old bluesy marching cadences we used to sing.

The Eagle Shits needs a lil more work before I even think about makin it public. It needs a lil more worms and mice to build texture.

Not to whore and all, well kind of. Can someone give me a lil input on Rooftops?

That version on my page is only a prototype, I can find some work that needs done on it.
