entrance into a splendid scratchhh routine:
the thing about MixMaster Mike is, you KNOW right from the onset of his routines that he will indeed be tearing sh*t up. the man, point blank, enters a scratch routine with a great deal of momentum.
very accessible case in point: intermission routine on the Awesome: I F-ing Shot That dvd. We can all study that, as the man rips into that funky drummer beat with a ferocious approach as his crossfader just keeps tweak tweak tweaking.
of course, MMM's scratching throughout remains impecible. but i just feel it's crucial to note the momentum he gains, right from the getgo. indeed! As a record scratch-or myself, his stylings constantly appear at the pinnacle of what just might be possible.
so i'm just here to say thanks MixMaster, thanks for making all our lives a bit more lively. you're like a got foresaken TONAL RACONTEUR.
p.s. : i still gots a personally tape recorded copy of a live MMM set from Boston in 2000 at the middle east. there's some good sh*ts up on there. word em up. :eek::p:eek:
