Just saw it for the first time on my telly and would love to see it again. Didn't know Bacardi used this song for a commercial. *cool*

No, my thoughts being the fact that I knew someone was gonna drop the TV ad lyrics.

Haven't seen it. They're not in it doing the Biz Mark Dance or the Cabbage Patch while not drinking the Bacardi and liking to party are they?

I always thought the whole "no advertising" shit was a bit hypocritical. If you dont want to make money off your song, why sign a deal with a major record label?

Crapitol probably licensed it. It's not like the band have ever been particularly protective or proud of Hey Ladies.

(I secretly love when mass marketing culture mines the joys of my childhood. I know, this makes me a bad man. Oh well.) :)

Is it all over the place? I haven't seen it yet. It's the actual Beasties,
"Hey Ladies" version or is it just the sample? Inquiring minds must know. Link...

Sometimes songs are blatantly ripped off for commercials and I doubt the artist always endorses it. It could just be a cover of the song performed for the commercial.

Has anyone in the US seen it? Celebrities often release things they're ashamed of in foreign countries but not at home.

haven't seen it here yet, but i'm keeping a look out!
i think it's pretty ironic that in Triple Trouble, they mention not selling out to ads and not drinking bacardi (which is about the funniest line i've ever heard)within 4 lines. heh. :)
Ain't selling out to advertisers
What you get is what you see
And you won't see me out there advertising
See I like to party not drink Bacardi
'Cause I'm not looking to throw up on nobody

I've spotted it in a TV show where only funny ads from all parts of the world are shown. This is a series of 13 shows. They mentioned the origin of the ad is USA and then they have shown it.
The ad starts with "Hey Ladies" from the first second. A man wakes up after a long night with too much drinks and tries to get up for the bathroom. He stands up and finds a phone number written on his arm together with a little heart. When in the bathroom he starts to undress. Then two things happen at the same time. The the part of "Hey Ladies" is reached where the vocals start and the man gets aware of dozens and dozens of phone numbers and hearts written on his whole body. That's quite funny. In the end the Bacardi logo is shown together with a bottle of Bacardi.

Has anyone else had any luck?
