I went to the pub the other night, a bunch of sprogs in masks invaded the place demanding treats until the landlord kicked them out. In hindsight I should have treated them with a Bloody Mary. That'd teach 'em.

Wouldn't mind, but their costumes were shit an' all. Put more effort into it than a mask and a bin bag and I'll think about it.

I work for the Home Office and whenever America have a bullshit holiday like 4th July and that other one for your presidents, they try to get us to celebrate it here - we are all like, fudge that with a shitty dildo - we hate america..."

Oh, and Trick or Treating (or I am led to beleive) dates back to All Souls Day when poor people used to give prayers for households that recently had a death for food or something weird like that - actually I don't know fully. But I'm 99% sure it originated in Ireland and UK - I think more Ireland. Do american schools educate you lot to beleive everything originated in the USA?

Another things annoys me is 9/11. Here "9/11" is 9th November or a math sum - yet we still call it that because we are all americans now and some how we should care.

Actually, school don't teach us anything here (y)

If you asked people how Halloween came about most wouldn't be able to tell you. It's really silly people celebrate something they don't even know about.

you're kind of a prick, dude. i'm not even saying this as an american, i'm just saying it as someone who can tell when someone's being a prick, and that's what you're doing in every thread where the word "america" is mentioned

in fact, i have a theory...

i disagree. i dont think its that he doesnt care because hes cold. i think he doesnt care because the american media makes people think they need to care. i feel like every chance they get they make such a big deal about it. and i am saying this as an american.

whens the last time you hear something on the sunami? (Hell you might have just even asked yourself "what sunami?")

you have to admit americans do give enough reasons to hate on us/them. (i dont feel im one of those people give reasons hence the them)

i can't really disagree with that, no. hell, i hate most americans too. but it's like...i'm allowed to. it's like you can only make jokes about jews if you're jewish, otherwise you're an antisemite

still, it gets kind of annoying for some reason. i think living in boston has made me very defensive and irritable, you wanna fight about it?

DOWN WITH AMERICA! UP WITH SUNAMIS!

(I always thought it was tsunami)

My fucking teeth hurt.

uhh, anyway, yeah, halloween is cool, duh. it's fun to dress up and it's the only time this exchange would happen:

boyfriend: "ugh, Ace Ventura totally wants to do you"

me: "nah, come on, I thought he was dating Darth Vader?"

OR,

me to some of my dudes: "hey, you guys should go hit on beavis and butthead"
