You just don't need them dude. Trust me, you'll miss their dark embrace. But you don't need them.
they make you stink
the actual smell of a lit cigarette is pretty pleasant to me, but the lingering smell of someone who's been smoking is just nasty
and it doesn't really go away, either

How funny.
We just got notes on our doors from the new landlord this weekend basically saying that our apartments are going to be non-smoking now.
I called the manager and said, "Hey -- you're going to have to give me a few days to comply on this one."
I mean, it's their property, and I respect that, but I moved in with a lease saying that I could smoke there, and they've never had me sign
anything saying differently.

if someone made a perfume/aftershave that actaully got rid of the tobacco smell without being completely over powering they'd be a billionaire. i have a few scented candles in my room and they totally cover the smell. maybe i should get into some kinky shit and start pouring hot scented wax over myself

urge, i've had loose nights like that.
ppl who say a cigar a day dont know wtf they're talking about. i dont know why no one's invented something like a nasal inhaler yet. or at least something that gives you a quicker hit than gum or a friggin patch

I pretty much don't smoke from the time that I shower until the time that I'm home for the evening. My clothes are kept in a smoke-free room.
Most people are surprised to find out that I smoke because they don't smell me.

you know those women who can blow smoke out of their vaginas? i wonder what those must smell like
of course i wonder the same thing about your standard garden variety vagina, so i don't really have a frame of reference for this one

soundz to me like you're having a "hashteroid" problem.....:D
1. Money - I went from about a pack a day habit to about 5 cigarettes total this week. It saved me about $25. So thats an extra $100 in my pocket at the end of the month.
2. Teefs - I got some Yellow Fronts on my teefs. Smoking is what I blame. Since I brush em and floss on the regular.
3. the obvious health reasons.
4. you don't have to go out in the cold at non-smoking establishments.

I quit in March (barring a couple of minor relapses, one of which was in Las Vegas so felt it would be sacralige not to chuff like a chimney...)

<---Thread Killer Reason--->
My dad died of cancer and 2 brain tumors in April this year because of smoking.
Do it - especially if you have kids and/or a spouse, unless you hate them then as its pretty selfish to put them through those sort of illnesses of a loved one.
And just so there is no "oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that" in this thread and thus kill it off from its half serious point...
What do you call bugs with cancer?

In fine time for the national smoking ban then. I know some smokers that have quit recently and it's been made easier for them due to smoking not really being such a social thing anymore.

can they really legally enforce that?

i have burn scars on my legs from dropping cigarettes on my lap in drunkenness :(
it's also a really stupid thing to do if you already have pre-existing respiratory problems.

You'll die.
I get along quite well with my boyfriend's family, but one thing I can't fathom is why they all still smoke. His father died of cancer (unrelated to smoking), but his mother still smokes. Her partner suffered a heart attack and was told to quit, but he didn't.
I don't know what more it you'd need to convince you that smoking is in fact not good for you.

I don't really care about that part. I feel like: it's their property, smoke is damaging, so it's their right to ban it if they want to. I just think
the fair thing is to give me a few days to quit, and not just expect me to just because they're snapping their fingers. Addiction doesn't
quite work like that. :D

You don't do anything that's not good for you?
If not, congratulations. You're better than 98% of the population. (y)

How bout not dying from something as unintelligent as routinely lighting dried leaves on fire directly in front of your face.

I didn't mean it like that, though I can see how you can interpret it like that.
My point was, the children have lost their father to a cancer that wasn't preventable. Why choose to partake in something that will cause them to possibly lose their mother, their stepfather, aunts and counsins as well?
Cancer is not nice. I think it's pretty cruel to make an informed decision to do something that will cause more inevitable heartache to your family when they have already suffered enough.

I usually don't care too incredibly much about smoking, though I've never been serious with someone who was a smoker.
Today though I hung out with a guy I kinda like and he smokes a lot and I sure saw the whole yellow teeth thing happening. Ew.
