Have you ever accomplished anything based purely on being patient? Post examples. Have you reeled in a really big fish? I'm stumped. Patience is a virtue? Proof it.
Liked building wiring harnesses from scratch and wiring engines in cars they are not supposed to be in and converting plugs and harnesses. Takes a looong time and you have to be very patient and focused or else you fuck it up.

everything about me is patient
My main accomplishment that came from patience is not pissing other people off. Or getting pissed off. If those count for something.

(whistle)
Shed a tear 'cause I'm missin' you
I'm still alright to smile
Girl, I think about you every day now
Was a time when I wasn't sure
But you set my mind at ease
There is no doubt
You're in my heart now
Said, woman, take it slow
It'll work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said, sugar, make it slow
And we come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
(patience)
Mm, yeah
I sit here on the stairs
'Cause I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you right now
I'll wait, dear
Sometimes I get so tense
But I can't speed up the time
But you know, love
There's one more thing to consider
Said, woman, take it slow
And things will be just fine
You and I'll just use a little patience
Said, sugar, take the time
'Cause the lights are shining bright
You and I've got what it takes
To make it, We won't fake it,
I'll never break it
'cause I can't take it
(whistle)
...little patience, mm yeah, mm yeah
need a little patience, yeah
just a little patience, yeah
some more patience, yeah
need some patience, yeah
could use some patience, yeah
gotta have some patience, yeah
all it takes is patience,
just a little patience
is all you need *
I BEEN WALKIN' THE STREETS AT NIGHT
JUST TRYIN' TO GET IT RIGHT
HARD TO SEE WITH SO MANY AROUND
YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE
BEING STUCK IN THE CROWD
AND THE STREETS DON'T CHANGE
BUT BABY THE NAME
I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THE GAME
'CAUSE I NEED YOU
YEAH, YEAH, BUT I NEED YOU
OO, I NEED YOU
WHOA, I NEED YOU
OO, ALL THIS TIME **

pfft if only i still had some of the shit i made as a kid. i had the patience of a glacier. if i screwed up, though, after spending 2 or 3 days on a project, i'd probably throw it across the room.

Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, perseverance and tenacity are all you need. Patience is way overrated. Patience at work will be seen as slacking by your boss. Maybe people should be a little more patient in general.

Appreciating brussel sprouts and Bob Dylan.....and I once sat in a tree blind for 28 hours in order to see a cougar and her kittens emerge from a den.....(y)

That I can appreciate. A friend of mine spent 8 hours in a freezing river to take some pictures of a lynx. He lost a toe to cold burn. Anyway, you were lucky that cougar didn't just jump up your tree to fuck you up. They can jump 25 feet upwards...

I'm good at patience and awful at perseverance. Go figure.
When I was growing up I can remember my father always saying--son, patience is a virtue. I also have heard the Chinese proverb---patience is a flower that does not grow in every garden.
I am a very patient person. Some people mistake patience for apathy or laziness. Many people think pushing at 100 mph is the way to prove competence. I used to play poker at the Hard Rock near Miami and at the Kennel Club card room when I lived in South Florida. I would sit down and easily detect the aggressive players. I would then wait for good cards and then set the trap. I made 5 final tables and some good money. Of course, there is much more to poker than being patient but I find it to really help my game. I have always been very patient with my career and I have always been rewarded. I am married so patience comes in very handy when dealing with my wife and son. It is very hard to be patient and my father is correct in calling it a virtue.
