I know there's good and bad in every bunch, and it's not always appropriate to make generalisations. However, in my experience, the young people I have worked with from Eastern Europe on the whole work harder and complain less than their Western counterparts. They just don't have the same sense of entitlement, I think.

they're fine and all but there's loads in my town working for an illegal wage. i can't compete with that :( they seem pretty hostile too. i guess it's their culture.

You will likely find a higher ratio of very ruthless motherfuckers in that bunch, so it is best to make friends with a lot of them before you end up like those dudes in Hostel. I don't dig the chicks to much, good looks, but a rather serious and stern lot.
