I almost cried when I heard the news
Then it came on Channel 1 news at school and this girl said it pissed her off that Run DMC "ruined" and Aerosmith song. I nearly killed her.

ruined as in Aerosmith says that their current post 86 success is completely related to Rick Rubin and RUN DMC making them relevent again.

Why not neither of them? Or does some1 always have to die every few years in Rap music
I saw Run DMC in 2001 (I think) at Leeds Festival. They did a 40 minute intro and about one song and then was told to end their set by the powers that be so that some crappy band like Funeral for a Friend could come on early. I was gutted...
Can't beleive it was 5 years ago to day tho. I remember that morning when I heard, I took the laces out of my adidas in respect.

Any rapper that tries to get involved with gangs is gonna get murked. Jay had that history before Run DMC but he should have become disassociated from it. Entertainment and gangs don't mix, even if the artsists like you to think they do. It's like Lil Wayne and Baby running round claiming all this Blood shit, sooner or later it's gonna turn sour.
R.I.P. to a legend and peace and love to his family.
