in a couple of weeks for the comedy thingy. We got tickets for Seinfeld, Chris Rock, the blue collar bit and we are planning to sneak into the sold out Eddie Izzard show.
Anyways, never been to Vegas before. Any Vegans here have any advice or tips or hints or anything? My only hope is that every single person that we run accross is in full drag and/or an Elvis impersonator.
Walter is not so excited as me. He's from Amsterdam so he's pretty much seen it all already-however not in neon.

BE SURE TO BRING A FANNY PACK!!!
Seriously, the only way to go to Vegas is to do it with as much cheesy tourist crap as possible. It's horrible.

Huh weird I thought there were more of my fave comics going but there isn't. I have seen Seinfeld twice live, he's awesome.
I would try seeing Brian Posehn's thing too, he's really great. You have to kinda like death metal though I think.
Have a good time/hang out with Psy and Alruggs if you want or can because they are awesome/eat lots of buffets/just live it up. Everything is overpriced as far as the attractions go so just be ready for that. I quite like the Star Trek ones at the Hilton, if either of you are Trekkies you should at least hit up Quark's Bar if not the rides, and get a Warp Core Breach or a Borg Sphere, crazy booze that has fog LOLOLZ.
The cheapest drinks are either a) getting it from the liquor/convenience store or b) this little side bar in the MGM grand that's off the entrance connecting to New York New York. Seriously my friends and I were wandering around and it was way too expensive to drink in any of the bars - this is just a side thing where you can get a cocktail and then walk around the casino but we ended up there all night because they had (really strong) $2 jello shots so we got drunk off those with some crazy Canadian people.
I just read that and it sounds like I meant Psy and Alruggs eat lots of buffets, and I don't know about that part.

Hey I've been there 4 times now in the past 3 years, and 3 of those times I went on down to the Tropicana Casino & Hotel and plunked down the $19 to see the Comedy show there.
I wouldn't even think of missing it, if I lived in Vegas I'm pretty sure I would go at least once a month. Every time I've went they've had 3 topflight rising star comedians who are seasoned enough to get the crowd laughing pretty, pretty good.
Sounds like your going for a few laughs, check it out, the Tropicana also has perfect Las Vegas cheese level.
If your gonna Buffet, and you want the very best, Paris Casino kicks ass.
I saw the stage show LOVE (http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuSoleil/en/showstickets/love/intro/intro.htm) at the Mirage last time, but it's seriously pricey. Though it is the best sound system I've ever heard.
I'm jealous, seattle is starting to get mossy.

the Aladdin buffet I'm told is the best
definitely get booze from the stores vs buying them while you are out if possible
take advantage of having open containers on the street and while you are walking around in stores.

I don't like buffets.
I once went to a breakfast buffet in Vegas on Easter Sunday though. That's back when I liked to play cards. I wish I had known about the Star Trek thing the last time I went. :(

16th and 17th. We got tickets to saturday one.
Incidently, are there any proper stores on or around the strip? I need a new camera.
You say recession, I say cheap Canon ;)

It'll probably more overpriced on the strip. There's a Best Buy not too far from the strip. I'd say at least 30% of their customers are from the strip.
