Yup.

I'm leaving the Scandinavian wastelands for my spot in the sun tomorrow morning. Five days in Hong Kong before arriving at Kingston Smith. I'll basically live and work and travel in Australia until at least March.

I'm nervous as fuck about this. Nervous and excited.

So...anyone been to Hong kong? What should I do except for touristing around Victoria Hill?

Yeah, I worked there for 6 months and am going back for the 4th time next year.

Take the star ferrry to Kowloon and go to the art museum there
Go to the Big Buddha on Lantau
The 10,000 monks monastery is ace
The beach at Stanley is really nice
You could pack in a day trip to Macau (you might need a visa?) which is completely different to HK
Cheng-Chau (sp) is cool
Shopping in Causeway Bay or one of the night markets
Drinks in Wan Chai or Lan Kwai Fong
Karaoke in Mongkok.

You'll find lots of things to do and it's dead easy to get around....

That's good information.

I'm flying from Macao so I'll probably spend about one day there. I don't need a visa for that though.

I'm staying in Kowloon.

I went to both Macau and hong kong last year. In hong kong we went to the amusement park and some other places, can't remember where we went cause I was fairly drunk the whole time. Ill have to ask the wife exactly where we went to, haha. Make sure you get your pic taken next to the bronze Bruce Lee statue.

Also, there's plenty of cannons to take your pic next to in Macau. Theres a huge tower in Macau that you can propel from. I was going to do it but no lie, I pussed out.

We didnt even plan macau, just went to mainland china, then to hong kong on a single entry visa. Tried to get back to the mainland and was denied and told that i had to stay in macau to get another visa to reenter. Made the best of it though and i hope you do too!
