i hear this drum beat everywhere

i think it's a latin thing. i live in a very latino neighborhood, and about half of the cars that drive by have the same drum beat pumping out. i've been meaning to make a post about it, and i finally found a song that has it so i can show you what it is. it's this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KcueZMZMVk8), the drums there. i hear it constantly. either everyone in my neighborhood is just listening to this song over and over, or it's a very common beat (it is pretty damn infectious).

has anyone else noticed it? does it have a name or something?

but the tune is pretty catchy as well. and the drum beat seems pretty simple, so i wouldn't be surprised if it appears in other songs.

Rhythms like bossa nova, rhumba, waltz... those were staples.

yeah the puerto ricans when they drive by it's always the same fucking beat. it slowly changes through the years. in 5 years time it will be a completely different beat.
