I want to get this for my birthday. It's good, yeah? Is multiplayer as laggy as Gears could be? I've only heard good things.

Not played it online but i've heard good stuff about it.

Single player will blow your socks off.

it's extremely fucking cool, but extremely fucking short. call of duty has never been known for being a very long game, but this one just seems shorter than usual to me. maybe it's because i wanted it to continue so badly, i dunno, but i think i beat it in 4 hours. let me put it this way; i started drinking a six-pack when i started playing, and i'd beaten the game before i finished (i had nothing to do that evening, sue me).

i still don't feel like i wasted my money or anything though, it is really damn cool. i've just been replaying the missions ever since. they're all scripted and stuff so i guess there's not technically a ton of replayability, but i dunno, they're just so...cool.

i haven't played online a ton, but it seems ok. it's really chaotic, i find myself getting shot pretty often. the kill-cam is cool. it's also kind of neat in that you can create your own player class; as you get more points, you go up in rank, and you unlock weapons and abilities that you can equip yourself with. you start out with only basic stuff like m16's and SAWs, but you can unlock stuff like M60 machine guns and that .50 cal sniper rifle. you also get these "perks", like increased health or bullet damage. some of the more advanced ones look pretty cool. there's one called "last stand", where when you die, you fall down and pull out your pistol and can get off a few last shots before you actually die.

i'm also blown away by how well this game runs on my computer. i think it actually runs a little better than call of duty 2, but it looks so much better. i have most of the settings on medium, with most of the advanced stuff like dynamic lighting and shadows turned off, but it still looks fucking amazing.

anyway i'd recommend buying it, shortness notwithstanding. it definitely carries on the call of duty tradition of action-packed, cinematic scripted sequences.

The single player is quite short but oh, oh so sweet.

The multiplayer is just mental - in a good way. It's so intense. I can only play for about 2 hours before I feel a tension headache coming on.

It's only doing that cause it's fucking amazing though.

Anyone playing it on the Xbooooox should add me for some games. Big Gus73

I remember when Call of Duty was only available on PC.

Oh, how times change.
