let's say you did a last minute job for someone for a verbally agreed upon amount of money, with an agreed upon budget, then the budget goes up "unexpectedly" and you end up making less than half of what you were supposed to make, the profit.

also consider that one of the larger additional expenses was something that you were originally told was "locked", only to fall through at the last second, forcing you to have it cost 10x more than the original price. also keep in mind that this extra expense was 'sold' to you by someone your friend knows... (i.e., they overpriced it, sold it to you at a premium cost, and probably split the money)

does this make sense?

in other words, how do you handle a situation like this where you've been done in by someone who you usually put down as a reference for 90% of the work you've done?

or, how do you handle it when a 'friend' steals from you?

friends don't steal from friends. people who you think are your friend steal from friends.

consider it a lesson learned with him/her. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Now you know not to do business with them again unless you want to risk it again. If he/she got over on you this time it might make them think you are a chump so your next bidness venture may have the same results.

Or you can just jack that mah fucka when he least expects it.

I'm with Rock. Chalk it up to a lesson learned in life and don't do business with the dude again.

The mature thing to do is just let it go and cut ties with the person....BUT you could also get revenge in other ways like the old sugar in the gas tank gag and things like that. I probably would do something like that...at least cause enough damage that any "profits" he made off of you would then have to be spent fixing whatever you broke

I say you murder their children/parents, then at the funeral just run up from behind, push them into the open grave and shout "OWNED LOL!"

Then you could probably call it even. (y)
