i like it a lot. i like making food. i like being a delivery driver. i dont have to deal with the customer aspect of it so much but it at least gives me lots of laughs. i like getting huge insane rushes of people. i like the hectic dodging around grabbing things. i like the teamwork that's necessary to keep everything running smoothly.

i've realized that i like this probably more than any normal, responsible, well paying adult job that i could get. sitting in a boring office all day would make me depressed as fuck.

im starting to wonder if maybe i shouldn't make my ultimae goal to have a restaurant at some point in my life. i obviously woudlnt have the money for that any time soon, but being like, the general manager of some place i think would be well paying enough to live a decent life, and i'd still actually get to be in the shop everyday making food and all that.

also, i feel kind of bad about the fact that i like this idea so much. i'm young and in college, i should be reaching for the stars or some shit.

sometimes when im bored i'll go in to jimmy johns and work for fun. or i'll go in to eat and it will get busy and i'll jump on the register and answer phones. ive even taken deliveries wearing my normal every day clothes. if i do this for a substantial amount of time i'll clock in. if not, meh, i might help myself to a cookie.

I like to cook, my family thought I should go into culinary arts but I felt it wasn't exciting enough.
Now I'm a Criminal Justice grad and the quickest way for me to make money is to become a cop, something I'm only mildly interested in.
A chinese restaurant just opened across town. I might try to get work there.

working in a restaurant is interesting. well i mean, it can be depeing on the place. very fast paced. in highschool i considered going to culinary school but it's fucking expensive and from what ive heard getting experience in real life is as good as any culinary school degree. also, i woudlnt want to be a chef at a super fancy stuck up restaurant. im happy with cooking normal food or making subs.

This thread is making me nostalgic. I worked as a busboy for a catering staff at a country club for a summer during college. I worked with a bunch of bratty high school kids who thought I was in high school too. I look kind of young so I fit in the group fit in really well, so I pretended like I was in High School. It was a blast, I didn't worry about getting fired so I did whatever I wanted. I was like the coolest kid in school.

The chef, who demanded we call him "Chef", was kind of a psycho but a nice guy, who worked really hard in short spurts, had a big watch that he wore on his apron and I was like "oh, cool, he's quirky." I found out that he had coke in there! The last day I told everyone "I'm not a high school senior, I'm about to graduate from college lol." They thought I was really strange.

Last summer I called a girl co-worker to see the Breakup with me. She politely declined.

speaking of jobs, do y'all think i should get a job at this little soup cafe in my town? i am only 14, but they say they might get to hire me. but it will probably get in the way of my school work.

or should i not worry about getting a job? i think its kinda cool that they'll lemme work there.

if you even THINK it'll get in the way of school don't do it, sweetheart.

see if they'll hire you in the summer. :)

you're a smart girl. don't let "work" get in the way of school.
