i built a computer for my parents with a pretty decent sound system. i actually managed to teach them how to download and burn music. i taught them to burn music so they could take it with them into their cars, but they burn the music and play it on the this shitty stereo that's in the same room as the computer. this stereo is well inferior to the sound system that i paired up with the pc i built for them. no matter how many times i tell them and show them how to play the music on the pc and in fact that the pc is much much better than the stereo they just won't do it. every time i show them how to use the pc to actually play the music they are shocked on how much better it sounds than the shitty stereo they have. yet they still don't use the pc to play the god damn music. i find this incredibly aggravating. the sound system cost more than the actual pc and stereo combined...

My mother sent me an email yesterday linking me to an ebay auction of a projector screen (you know, a white blind to project movies onto) asking how she would plug her dvd player into it if she bought it.
I called her and said 'uhhh... its just white fabric. nothing electronic' she said 'yeah, but it can play dvds cant it? how would i plug in my dvd player??'
shes not normally that stupid

my mom thought she could burn something to a dvdr in her regular cd drive (as in no dvd burner) so she bought some dvdr's.

If I could ever get my mom to understand something like that I would win a fucking Nobel Prize.
My dad have been using computers since the early 80s and he has tons of electronic gadgets. He also turned my old room into a home cinema.
My mom have no problem using a computer correctly, but she likes sudoku more.
They will both be 60 within 2 years.
