I'm looking forward to seeing some snow this year
There's been snow for a week here.
I hope it dies.
have you been running around outside stamping it to death?
There would be no need to hope if I had done that.

I live in the driest state of the driest continent in the world.
Hence, I have never seen snow.
Some kids here in the outback have never even seen rain.

I'm off to Pennsylvania tomorrow...apparently it's been snowing there too. I hope i don't get snowed in at the bloody airport or anything.

it's not all it's cracked up to be. it's really cold. and wet. and interferes with your normal daily routine whenever it happens. imagine a layer of shaved ice on the ground that you have to sludge through on your way to work/school.
it does look very pretty. i guess thats why people get excited about it? or cause it reminds them of being a kid throwing snow at people?
it generally only snows here like, maybe once a year, and then its like a thrid of an inch that melts by 5 oclock. but when it happens everyone managed to get in a wreck and the ditches are littered with cars.

maybe i had snowball fights wrong, and like, it doesnt snow enough here for people to know how a snowball fight works. i just remember standing in the yard with my dad while we threw stuff at each other until he hit me in the face and i cried. now that i think about it, kids in movies made like snow forts and shit right? is it like paintball with snow? i dont know these things. also now that i think about it our snowballs are probably different from other snowballs, in that our snow is usually wet and melty and makes ice when you make it in a ball.

duck!
Its supposed to snow later this week in my area. The first time of the year it snows/gets icy you have to deal with all the dumb fucks that don't realize you have to drive slower and prepare to stop earlier. After the first few days its all good again.

Snow is really fun until the last month of the season or so.
Of course, I haven't seen snow since my early twenties, so maybe I'd be sick of it by now. But I used to really like snow a lot.

That's just wrong. It's NOVEMBER! You should be cold.
It's 8 degrees Celsius today. Or 46.4 for you Fahrenheit people.
Odd fact: I always use Fahrenheit in the summer and Celsius in the winter.

Amazingly, it hasn't snowed here yet which is bizarre considering it's almost Thanksgiving.
I don't mind the snow when it's not too dangerous for driving and all that.
I can't imagine a snow-less Christmas and New Years :o

i hate how everything gets so eerily quiet when it snows. it acts like sound dampening insulation.
i wonder if we'll see snow this year...
i hope we do. I'm sick of the 100% man made snow on the hills around here. Garbage, absolute garbage.
i read this dude's theory a couple of weeks ago.
He had an acorn tree on his farm and his family had been using it for generations to predict how harsh the winters would be.
If there were a lot of acorns on the ground that meant it would be a snow filled winter because it was mother natures way of letting all the woodland creatures store up foodles for it. If there weren't that many acorns on the ground, then it was going to be a mild winter. He said it held true for as far back as he could remember.
So far I have seen way more acorns around here than I can ever remember, so I'm hoping this dude's theory is right.
It snowed last week near Winchester...so thats a start.

oooh thats exciting there are TONS of acorns on the ground at GMU... so thats nifty... could be that there are just a lot of oak trees there too... but we'll see....

nope...winter and snow in Saskatchewan sucks....snow is frozen gold and provides a gigantic High Plains to Foothills to Rocky Mountain playground...now anything past -15,throw in some wind, yeah that sucks....otherwise winter is what builds our constitution.....

"So don't ask me to wine and dine ya/You're from Brooklyn I'm from Regina." Winter in Saskatchewan is indeed a particularly savage and terrifying nightmare, but snow and ice anywhere is all the same: horrible garbage.
Bullshit.
Mmmm... no, actually I've got it exactly right. Winter is shit and anyone who thinks they enjoy it is delusional, or worse.

Ya know where the expression "Indian Summer" comes from?
French Canadian mercenary’s used to extend bounty’s on the Iroquois nation when fair-weather allowed, the idea being you hit their camps, scalp the braves and burn the stores/village they had prepped for winter….

ayyyyy my brother worked at ski lake louise for...2 seasons....then he got arrested and was told to never come back
during the summers he worked at the saskatchewan crossing "resort"(near lake louisea there), you probably know where that is too.
I enjoy the snow in my area, we are a semi desert so any snow we get is very dry and not too sloppy for the most part.
my city has two ski hills associated with it, one being the world renowned Sunpeaks Resort (http://www.sunpeaksresort.com/).
and even though it gets f'in cold here its a dry cold and not that bone piercing damp cold that you get everywhere else. so -20 really aint that bad.

I enjoy hot weather the few times a year I'm actually exposed to it, but truth be told it never gets hot enough here for me. Bob, what you're describing sounds like heat + humidity, which can be uncomfortable but still nowhere near as bad as snow and ice. I went to Italy this summer and it was 40 degrees (C) and blazing sunny every day for two weeks, with almost zero humidity - now that's the kind of weather I'd like to live in.
Mountains/skiing/winter sports? Y'all playin yourselves. Bottom line: Winter is poison and cancer.

technically every skil hill in Canada is built on native grounds.
its the goddamn government that gave sunpeaks the lease, so go figure that lil business deal out.
though, the bands around here are making a killing on their "99 year lease" deals in the area. freaking huge developments have been thrown up on these plots of land and people cant get into them quick enough. shows how little care everyone is giving to the future generation because its kinda like 60-70 years from now some person is all "wow! im inheriting your fancy renovated townhouse right next to the golf course? thanks grandpa!" and then its all reclaimed by the native lease holders 4 years later when the lease runs out.

It snowed today here too. However, our first snow was November 3. It stuck for half a day, then melted...I think it's sticking more now. It's 19 degrees outside and has been all day, so it's probably still there. I wouldn't know, I've been stuck inside all day being sick. :(
