If you wake up at 3:00 AM to go stand in line outside of a walmart to scratch & claw your way to a Sorny all-in-one TV DVD combo for an extra $40 bucks off you deserve to get trampled by other idiots with the same agenda.
Don't buy gift cards either, 15% of them never get used. Give cash, that will get used.

I think some of those places let you place your orders online and still get the sale price or discount or whatever.

At least Best Buy has that deal that they hand out tickets for what you want as you're lined up outside. So it's first come, first serve for the major sale items and there's no trampling.
I was saying yesterday, I would NEVER go to Walmart on Black Friday. Even if they said they were giving away everything for free. My health is more important than material goods. I'd rather not have that 32 inch TV than have that plus a few broken ribs. (n)

yeah i was a cashier at walmart on black friday last year.
the year before, they were giving away scratch off gift certificates for at least $5, and up to $100 at a clothing store as door prizes at 3am. we went up there and won a $50 each, and then walked over to walmart where we watched a bunch of women fighting each other in a giant bin of $3.88 dvds.
people were bleeding for "say anything".

I thought I had it bad working for a fabric store on Black Friday. Little old ladies clawing at every last bit of fabric that's on sale so they can make their grandkids quilts...those ladies can get pretty vicious. But damn, working at Walmart? That would have been murder. I can just imagine how many "BUT I SAW THE SALE SIGN SAID *insert wrong price here*!" complaints you got. :-/
