not "good" in the "this movie will stand the test of time and be talked about for generations" or the "award winning" kind of way, but planet terror to me was the most highly entertained i've ever been at the movie theater.


that thought is pretty unrelated though. im not trying to say thats good like what you mean by good. i just had to throw that out there.

Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump aren't exactly "real good" movies. And there've been a few hundred good movies since then.

What a chump. Have you seen The Departed? What about Shaun of the Dead? Children of Men? In my opinion even American Gangster is better than Forrest Gimp.

I honestly didnt think children of men was all that great. at all. all i could think the whole movie was how many scientific holes there were in the plot.

i had the same problem with star wars

it's like, YOU'RE IN SPACE, THE LASERS SHOULDN'T MAKE ANY SOUND, THERE'S NO AIR UP THERE, HELLO?!?!?!

Star Wars was gay because we learned in astronomy class that that whole Darth Vader Yoda Ben Kenobi shit is all just George Lucas spinnin yarns. He made all that crap up.

well yes and no

it's not so much that he made it up or lied about it, he just sort of conveniently adopted an unconfirmed version of the truth. for example, on the death star, you see darth vader strike obi wan kenobi down, and then obi wan completely disintegrates; that actually happened, it's a well documented event, some say it symbolized the turning of the tide in the star wars

but the idea that he then turned into some kind of spirit, that only luke could see and hear, that's pure conjecture. i mean you see him as this sort of blue specter on screen; now if in fact he were a spirit that only luke could see, then that would mean that he wouldn't be visible on camera, that had to have been added in in post-production or something. there's no proof that that was actually the true story, most historians speculate that luke just went a little crazy is all

this week we saw Beowulf. my review.. UGH.

i was complaining to my husband that this time of year we LOVE to see movies, but there is NOTHING coming out that we've been waiting a year for like we were with LOTR or even the star wars prequels. even harry potter is skipping out on the christmas movie season.

the only thing we're psyched about is new FUTURAMA coming out TOMORROW! YAY!
