The sales people are all shysters and the amount of offers and deals is utterly bewildering, but this afternoon I will attemp to sign up for a new contract without tell a single salesperson to 'fuck off' whilst I browse.

Wish me luck people (y)

You're braver than me. I just took the deal that 3 gave me over the phone. I couldn't be arsed looking elsewhere

they're all fucking trained to con people. When I decided to stay with my pay-as-you-go phone they kept flinging all these deals at me to keep me.It took an hour to tell the dickheads that I wasn't interested.I had the 14 days to cancel it thing as I thought I'd give it a go but it was shit....I only need a phone to text and talk, not watch things or take pics with or the fucking internet or waste of time ringtones but they are so fucking dumb these sales people but that's what they try to do...fool Jeremy Kyle guest types into a contract of hell

'No thanks'

'Blah blah blah blah 3 months free blah blah'

'NO!'

'But what about blah blah'

I hate them all

Thats what I've been doing the last few years with three, but I'm sick of them and just bought myself out of the contract for £220.

I got sick of that crappy call center, sick of broken phones and sick of how they only offer new customers the new deals in all the tv advertisments. My phone bills are easily £200 a month, they should have sent me my bills personally by a famous person each month. Three have no idea of customer loyalty.

Twats.

Last week I was in orange in leeds and the sales person was trying to corner me into signing a contract that day He told me that 'for this weekend only they would give me £150 for my current phone and take it off my contract', but I wanted to leave it for another week because I have free minutes left over on my current contract. He told me that after this weekend the offer would not be available and that I would be an idiot if I left it. I didn't like his hard sell approach so I asked to see another person but I'm sure they work for comission because he told me that everyone else was busy even though I could see that they were just stood there picking their arses. The red mist came and I just gave him the 'fuck off I wasn't born yesterday' and left.

Yesterday I was in another branch of Orange. There I saw a huge promotional poster advertising £150 off your bill when you hand in your old phone.

Seriously, the entire mobile phone industry is in dire need of some legislation and vetting.

Saying that, I do like that new lg viewty. It has a desktop with a little fishy swimming and the touch screen lets you direct it around. I'm a right sucker for that sort of stuff

Ah, I think I have been lucky then as I don't think I have ever had to call them and have had no problem with my handsets at all (my last 3 have been Sony Ericsson's and I <3 my new one K770i (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/overview/k770i?cc=GB&lc=en)). My phone bills are betwen £50 and £70 a month but that's mostly because of international calls/texts - if I cut those out (unlikely) I'd be well within my free allowance. I like 3 because of their bundling options and my reception has always been good.

I had a horrible instore experience once with useless sales staff so since then haven't dared to venture in.

I remember the days when to make a call you had to do it from your house or a public telephone and no internet, just ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.

less stressful times they were

It's a far cry from small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Isn't it? Mmmmm. Marvellous.

^that's hilarious

£200 a month tho? is that because you don't have a landline and use yr mobile for everything?

i pay £15 a month for 250 texts and mins. last year i threatened vodafone that i was going to run off with O2 and they were falling over themselves to keep me. however, if i want to upgrade my phone i don't think i'll get such a good deal, so i'm staying on it for ever and i'll just buy one of those cheap phones when this one collapses.

i dont ever get new cellphones, i usually just go to shops that sell used ones and get one for $20.

i usually break or lose them anyway, so why spent $ on em? last time, i bought a pay as yo u go phone for 19.99 and put my own sim card into it - works great. i even got a rebate for $10, do the thing only cost me $9.99(y)

well, me and the little lady live an hour apart so the mobile is our only form of communication during the majority of the week. I also use my phone for work too so that adds a bit to the bills.

So anyways, I went to the Orange shop this weekend totally ready to bare my arse to the first sales rep to try and dupe me.

Thing is, she was actually a really nice person (probably because she knew i was gonna walk out of there with two new phones) and really helpful. At first she tried to sell me the newest and most popular models but I don't like all those shiny, flashy, lurid new phone designs. I want something clean and simple. I saw this little beauty designed by the famous industrial designer Jasper Morrison.

I think it looks really cool, but she told me that no one was buying it. I can see why the average customer would breeze right past it for some sony-mp3-touch-screen-fandanglebob.

Oh and I got heather a new lg chocolate, it's pink. She'll have anything as long as you can get it in pink. (y)

I saw that one, it's a nice one too.

I go tthem to chuck in a blue tooth head set (which I will only use in the car and not walking around with it on my head like a plank. I hate that) and a digital photo frame which is a bit bum really, the resolution is poor and the frame is white and matches nothing in my apartment but I can't complain, it was free! :)
