You know what they say about getting your wisdom teeth pulled? IT SMARTS!
Man I've been cracking some bad chucks lately.
Soon I will have all of my wisdom teeth pulled due to corrective jaw surgery. It's gonna suck soooooo bad.

I use table in the colloquial sense. Like 'hood'. It's not like a suburb covers and protects the sensitive clitoris.

Worst pain ever.
...I'd rather have another vasectomy than have my two remaining wisdom teeth out.
The guy who did mine broke one of the teeth when he was pulling it out and some of the roots were left in my gum. I was pulling sharp shards of tooth root out of my gum for weeks.

I dunno. Pain isn't much of an issue usually. I'm gonna try to make it through with just Panadol or some supermarket shit.

Bang a fucking shitload of ketamine before you go in. (y)

I just had a few shots of anasthetic in my gums and off he went.
And no painkillers afterwards either.

she is.
getting them out under general anaesthetic is way better than laughing gas/the chair.
its not the kind of thing you want to be conscious during. (n)
i didnt mind the whole process really. a paid week off work? yes please.
How odd.
I sat in a chair and was conscious while they got pulled out.
And then I went back to work.

mine hadn't come through, and weren't going to. they had to dislocate my jaw and cut into my gums to get them out. there were abscesses forming where they were trying to grow through.
they can't do that in a chair.
my face was swollen for 4 days, and bruised for 7+

That makes more sense. Although they cut my gums as well.
Just for one tooth though.

mine was under general. i remember being in the office and being a little nervous, then waking up on a couch with steger standing over me laughing because i was drooling and had big cotton gauze walrus tusks covered in blood coming out of my mouth. and i kept asking him something over and over, i don't remember what. he thinks it was something like, "you want water, don't you?" and then being really woozy and in SO much pain in the parking lot of a grocery store while he picked up my prescription.
mine were pretty gnarly. one was all the way in, and sideways, impacting and rotting one of my molars. that shit hurt. food always got stuck under it  two were just sort of there, but the last one was really weird - it wasn't quite out yet, but it was fully grown. except it had no root. the ortho said he had never seen it before and it was pretty rare.
i was really, really sick from the anesthetic. i threw up blood for the first day and a half, and couldn't keep anything down. i stuck to really soft foods. the pain was pretty awful, but the vicodin i took the first day made me even sicker once i came down and didn't really help the hurting (just made me not care) so i stuck to a shitload of ibuprofen. that helped out a lot. i was puffy-cheeked for a good week or so, but the pain was really intense for only a few days.
by far the worst pain i've ever experienced (y)

that's sound horrible :(
the anaesthetic fucked me up too, but more like it made me cry for hours and hours. no vomiting blood thank god. the nurses thought there was something wrong with me, but yeah just a weird reaction to anaesthetic (and waking up alone in hospital :( )
i was in the hospital overnight - not sure how people manage to move the same day after having a general!

So yeah, this guy I knew named Kid P died while gettin his wisdom teef pulled.
It wasn't very wise of him was it? OOOOOhhhh.
You can call him dim cause he aint too bright..
Q: Hey, kid P, why did the chicken cross the road?
A: Oh wait, ya wouldn't know, cause you got not more wisdom teeth.
And you're dead....Hahaha!!
Q: What do you call Kid P with no wisdom teeth?
A: Anythin ya want, cause he's dead!!
hahah.
C'mon, where's the dead kid p with no wisdom teeth jokes?
I've had my top two wisdom teeth out. They were impacting on my lower ones and causing loss of hearing in my left ear (it's all joined together by nerves under the teeth).
I had to make an emergency call to Leeds dental institute where an Africa student had to take them out. It was his first time performing the procedure. He pulled the first one out, flinched and then dropped the tooth into my mouth and I nearly chocked on it. His 'teacher' had to do the second because he was too worried about doing it again.
Wisdom teeth - when intact - are like corkscrews and the dentist has to twist and pull with a huge amount of force. Once the drugs have worn off you begin to feel the worst jaw-ache imaginable.

I think my limit of posting my whole avoiding a FTX by gettin my wisdom teeth pulled has reached it's limit.
Helvete, if you're reading this and want to avoid a field training exercise, get your wisdom teeth pulled cause it's a weeks vacation in the barracks while everyone else is bustin their balls and sweatin. Everyone needs their wisdom teeth pulled at some point. And you'll enjoy some nice pills, legally.(y)

I had one out last month - IV sedative and local anaesthetic - I was apparently in there for an hour but have no recollection of it at all. Mine hadn't come through so they cut the gum and the tooth in 2 and yanked it out like that.
I was ok for the first day or 2 afterwards then day 3 and 4 I had excruciating ear ache (due to the nerve damage) and had to get prescription painkillers as I was basically in tears all the time and couldn't sleep. I looked like Marlon Brando too.
Now I am fine - well, I still have a hole there which hasn't completely healed but no permenant nerve damage.
C'mon, where's the dead kid p with no wisdom teeth jokes?
It's too early for me but I'm sure someone coud muster up something about Kid P paying men to put their tools in his mouth?

I had all 4 taken out in one time, local anaesthesy only, so the doctor told me to bring a mp3 player with me, it's better to hear some music than the noises of the operation. 3 of the teeth were quite deep and quite tilted, so he had to break them to take them out. Pain afterwards was bearable with the painkillers he gave me, but I had to eat cold and semi-liquid stuff for two weeks.
Funny thing I went to sleep the afternnon after and when I woke up I had the impression that my jaws had closed really strong during my sleep. A few days later my cheeks started inflating even more instead of getting back to normal, and I had quite a nasty taste in my mouth....in fact I had bitten myself really hard during my sleep, but hadn't felt anything because of the painkillers. The bite got infected and the doctor had to clean it all.....yuk....:(

I've told this story before but I'll tell it again.
I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. I had x rays done and when the doc had a look at them he actually whispered under his breath (but I could still hear) 'jesus christ!!!' I asked him if I could get them out in the chair and he laughed and laughed and laughed. He said errrr no, you will have to go under for these babies!!!
So its my first time under, I'm nervous as shit. The anethesist guy pumps me full of sedative to calm me down, and he looks shocked when its doesn't affect me at all. He says 'fuck it' and puts me to sleep.
I wake up in recovery very groggy and the surgeon kneeling down next to me looking very worried.
He says "Just wanna make you aware of a few things. First off, that was the most difficult wisdom teeth surgery I've ever done, in 15 years of practice. 3 of your 4 teeth were buried in bone. We had to break your jaw in 3 places to get the teeth out. However, when we were chipping thru bone we accidently hit an artery, and you lost a lot of blood. We tried to corterize the artery to stop the bleeding, and we accidently hit and severed a main nerve while doing so. Can you feel this?" and he pokes at my face with his finger. I shake my head no. He says "er yeaaahhh. There is a chance you may not be able to feel half your face for the rest of your life. You will know within a few weeks if it grows back or not."
So I went home and stocked up on heavy painkillers. My face resembled a tissue box for 2 weeks, and I lived on soup for 3 weeks.
Luckily the nerve grew back and I can feel my face now, thank god.
However now that they are all out I feel 300% better, and no more headaches!

There's a morphine post a bit up the page, a-z. It went good though. I slept last night in 3 hour increments (it's 5:30am) to see if there's any pain developing. It seems ok for now. Face hasn't swollen up yet. I asked the surgeon how the bottom teeth were (they were impacted to all fuckery; one was dead with a cavity in it). He simply replied "Extremely difficult".
Being knocked out and waking up in recovery was a trip, since I'd not had surgery before. I was being the life of the party out there, shouting "Chur!" to all of my 'friends' and exclaiming how great the party became once the drugs started flowing. All in all, it's been a decent experience. It hurt to eat lukewarm KFC potato and gravy, though, for some reason. I felt a twinge in the spot where the dead tooth wisdom was, maybe because of a fracture?

the rootz of my wisdom teefs went up into my sinuses and a few days after my surgery I developed a right nasty sinus infection. it felt as though my head might explode. it was very painful and it seemed like it took forever to get better. so watch out for that.(n)

Yeah, there was dude there getting his sinus passage closed up. Same thing you're talking about, he said it was really shit.
