- Sasquatch Festival with Seattle side show before it
- Threw away The Police 1st reunion gig tix, opted for sex.
- Went to Hurricane Festival in Germany and saw the Beasties with girlfriend.
- Went to Paris to see the Beastie Boys with best friends.
- Daft Punk in Los Angeles/ Sonic Youth gig in 1 weekend
- Lollapalooza, saw the most amazing Daft Punk gig ever. Among tons of other great acts
- Went to LA for 3 weeks, caught the Beasties 6 times in 7 days with my best friends, saw Incubus and Korn there aswell. Was cool to see them in California.
- Got a Beastie Boys tattoo
- Went to LA for Thanksgiving, did great drunken stuff.
- Going back to LA for a weekend to see my girlfriend and some sold out shows.

Overall I had a great year....cant complain one bit.

I guess the coolest thing that happened to me this past year (well it was a little over a year ago) was I found out that I had two sisters that I had never met before in my life who found me through an internet search. They found each other first through an internet search about a year before. We all met and it was pretty cool.

*spent almost the whole year getting over my ex

*Went on amazing road trip to Sasquatch where I saw my favorite band twice and had the best weekend of my life

*became best friends with a girl I'd known forever, we mutually became obsessed with Garth Marenghi's Darkplace which moved onto the Boosh and other things which changed my life (yes it's true)

*went to Vegas with friends and got drunk on jello shots with some Canadians

*Got my bike Eugene and my car Vince

*Worked on the second-most-watched TV show in America

*Saw the Comedy Death Ray show at the UCB Theater in LA for the first time ever

*boned a lot of douchebags

*had a great 80s prom party for my birthday

*went through a lot of ups and downs as far as confidence, depression, etc.

*bought this laptop that was owned by my friend who commited suicide last year

*met an amazing guy who I'm totally falling for

*decided to move to LA in the spring

2007 has been a learning experience. A bit of a period of maturity, I think.

it had some rough times but overall i'd say it's been a great year for me.

-started off with being really busy in school...and stayed that way
-did a lot of self-reflection and growing up in the beginning of the year
-my grandmother passed away, which was really difficult for my whole family
-went on an awesome cruise with two of my best friends
-made a lot of rad new friends in school
-joined a peer educator group on campus which helped make me a great public speaker, reach out to my fellow students, and become a million times happier and more confident than i've ever been
-dedicated myself to becoming the best student (and future dietitian) i can be
-lost those stubborn ten pounds and got in the best shape i've been since high school
-got my bike Photon Beam
-dealt with a really annoying medical issue that is still a concern but is at least under control
-dealt with a continuing serious flare-up of my boyfriend's Crohn's disease
-had some great times with good friends
-met two of my idols, Janet Weiss (of sleater-kinney, not rocky horror) and Camille Rose Garcia
-was in the audience (and got a lot of screen time) on the Tonight Show
-saw some great bands (ted leo, quasi, bjork in a couple of weeks), less shows than i used to see but still high quality
-GOT TWO KITTIES
-started a cooking blog
-celebrated 3 years with my boyfriend :)

my grandmother's passing was by far the most difficult thing i've experienced in a while. but overall this year was really good for me.

-made the semis in u85 kg rugby where we drew 12-12 after extra time but ended up "losing" because they beat us in round robin...most heartwrenching moment in my personal sporting history

all in all, it really has been one of the best years yet. besides the still being poor and fat thing.

This year has been such a blur I'm having trouble even remembering what the hell I did. I do know that:


Rang in the New Year at the Hard Rock with boyfriend and KLL.
Moved into a pretty kick ass place.
Got a $15k per year raise.
Got 2 of the bestest puppies EVER.
Went to Vegoose. Saw other random musical acts along the way.
Turned 30. Didn't handle it well.
Got called a cougar for the first time.
Next month I'll be celebrating my 2 year anniversary with boyfriend.
Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Good friend was diagnosed with cancer. Not operable. Not good.


Looking back 2007 sounds better than it felt. I'm optimistic for 2008.

As for the bad...

*Further away from family and friends, I miss them
*Dad diagnosed with a possible degenerative stroke disorder (which still has no second opinion, so is not confirmed in my mind)
*Fucking loans taking 4 goddamn months to go through and missing out on money because of the exchange rate going up 12 cents (though I successfully threatened them into making it up, it was still a pain)

Overall, a really great year. Finally got out of my rut and took a chance on something new which I have never done before in my life. I'm really glad I did, too. (y)
