to me it looks like it's not the 4 fold gate cover. probably just the sleve with the front and back and none of the goodies inside.

The auction says in was made in Europe but the picture for the auction corresponds to the Canadian release. I'm confused now.

Though issued by EMI Canada, this is not an original 1989 pressing. The vinyl and sleeve use "EST 2102" as the catalogue number (because the sleeve is based on the UK pressing), but the etchings in the runout groove use "7917431".
It is unknown what year this version was actually released.
It's Fugazi.
If you don't have the 8 panel gatefold original press US [C1-92844], you ain't gangsta
and true gangstas have at least 2 copies of everything.

The original 1989 UK pressing has Beastie Boys printed in black on the top right of the front cover, the second UK pressing doesn't. The 1989 UK pressing has EST 2102 on the spine and the second UK pressing has the number which matches the barcode (0777 7 91743 1 7) printed on the spine. On the 1989 UK pressing the barcode and catalog number are in the upper right hand corner of the back, and the Beastie Boys Records logo is there with the Capitol logo on the bottom center of the back cover. The 1989 UK pressing actually says "Sleeve printed in England. Manufactured in England. SP8907CMCS." The second UK pressing has no Beastie Boys Records logo in the bottom center. The barcode on the second pressing is in the top left corner of the back cover and states "Place of manufacture as stated on label. Manufactured and Distributed by EMI". The 1989 UK pressing has "EST 2102 A-1-1-1-" stamped into the run out groove of side A and "EST 2102 B-1-1-2" (with the number 2 etched ) stamped into the run out groove on side B. The second UK pressing has "EST 2102 A-2-1-" stamped into the run out groove of side A and "EST 2102 B-2-1-" stamped into the run out groove of side B. Both versions have "MANUFACTURED IN THE UK BY EMI RECORDS LIMITED" printed on the outer ring of the vinyl lable. The 1989 UK pressing has EST 2102 printed in the top right corner of the side of the record sleeve where the lyrics are printed. The second UK pressing has no catalog number in the top right corner, but has the bar code number (0777 7 91743 1 7) printed just below the Brooklyn Dust Music logo in the bottom right corner of the side of the record sleeve with the lyrics on it.
Having said all of that...
I don't have the Canada version, (just the original UK and the UK repress) but the pics on the beastiemania site are exactly same as the UK repress. When EMI repressed the record they modified the barcode information to "place of manufacture as stated on label", and removed Manufactured in England from the back cover so that the artwork regardless of where the record was pressed could be universal. The yellow sticker on the front of the record you linked to on ebay probably says something like "imported by EMI Canada". What the description on beastiemania is saying is that even though the the cover and catalog number on the Canada release make this look like an older release, the record was pressed recently, and used the artwork which was used for a much older release. I will send someone who has the Canada vinyl a link to this thread and maybe they will be willing to fill in the gaps. The reason that it is so much cheaper is because Sound City Beaches started off selling them around $30 and the price has been dropping ever since. They probably just have more inventory than they can go through at a higher price. Hope this helps clear up the confusion.

BFL is "THE MAN" when it comes to knowing tis kind of minutia... The bits, the little differences, the details if you will. 20 years from now the Beasties will hire him to catalog "The Vault"..

It's the same place I bought my Anthology vinyl box from, so it's all good.
