I don't have anything personal against Hatton. I am just really happy thatMayweather won, ESPECIALLY, after how rude and un-sportsman-like Hatton's fans at the fight were, really disrespectful. Anyway, Mayweather IS the best pound for pound boxer in the world.

roosta
12-10-2007, 06:16 AM
^^ agreed.

I wanted to see the best boxer win. And that was/is Mayweather.

That was bollocks. Hatton had the entire crowd behind him, and he fought with passion. Mayweather just defended himself and waited for the pressure to overwhelm Hatton. Not an entertaining fight, and I was pissed off that I waited up til 8am (and spent all my money on beer and white) for it.

Tone Capone
12-10-2007, 08:30 AM
No he had a bunch of drunk Brits behind him (I think the in-flight meal back to the UK was humble pie). He fought pretty much as expected. The better boxer won... the better boxer knocked Hatton the fuck out.

Lex Diamonds

Brits = "THERE'S ONLY ONE RICKY HATTON! FUCKING COME ON MY SON! LET'S AVE IT!"

Americans = "I worna see Pretty Boy punch him good, yesir. Any y'all wan another chilli dawg?"

If the referee was fair and it was held on neutral ground Ricky would have smashed him.

If both fighters had fought fair and it was held on neutral ground Ricky would have smashed him.

HAHAHAHA! That was a good impersonation (not really)

Who was booing during the national anthem?? The Americans? I bet if a bunch of Americans flew to England and boo'd during the British national anthem, there would be a HUGE scandal. Am I lying?

Anyway, the results show who was the better fighter. I mean, you might have an argument if the match ended up going to the cards and it was close, but staying on the canvas for 15 seconds is called getting knocked the fuck out.

I appreciate that you want to defend your fighter but, you might need to pick a better one.

No, there would be a huge FIGHT. Have you ever seen a non-US football match? The supporters cuss the shit out of each other, then afterwards they meet up for a big fight. I'm not saying it's a good thing but it's all part of supporting your team/country. As far as I know America are the only country in the world that don't fight for their teams.

And I don't need to defend Hatton, if Mayweather takes him up on a rematch in England then the whole world will see.

hatton's gonna kill mayweather

I have been away for awhile so excuse me for adding to this thread after the fact. I can see how you would believe Hatton had a good chance but it went exactly the way I suspected. Mayweather's strength is defense, footwork and counterpunching. Hatton's aggressive style was tailormade for Mayweather.

Oh, by the way, I will also tell you the winner of the Super Bowl 4 days after the game.

Why would it have to be neutral if he had the whole crowd behind him?

Mayweather was cleverer and better technically. Hence, he won.

No matter how live the away crowd was, Mayweather had home advantage. Tell me that any American could come to somewhere like Wembley and not shit themself. It was the same with Hatton in Vegas, no matter how much support there was he looked visibly shook.

And the referee was a dick, he broke up every one of Hatton's decent attacks but when Mayweather got in close he didn't do shit.

Hatton is a folk hero in the UK,
Most people I know in the US can't stand Mayweather, thus the bigger cheering section for Hatton.

Mayweather is a puss, he hits and runs away every fight. He did the same thing against De La Hoya.
I have to laugh at anyone who calls Mayweather the best pound for pound anything. He lost to a 35 yo De La Hoya.

But Hatton has no chance of ever beating a hit and run fighter like Mayweather.

Nah, America will happily stand there wanking into the flag whilst singing Star Spangled Banner till the cows come home, but when it comes to rallying together and fighting for what they believe in they're pussies. Unless they have guns/nukes/intimidated allies on their side.

Please don't tell me you've got some sort of national pride in those drunken UK soccer idiots who fight each other to decide who's team is better?

It is. The whole hooligan thing is bollocks, it generally makes up about 0.5% of fans who go to games, if that.

Anyway I think Hatton can have a lot of pride, he fought well, but their styles clash in favour of Mayweather.
