This film just opened in my area and saw it last night and totally loved it.

If you're unaware of the premise, it's a documentary "narrated" by Cobain (taken from 25 hours of recorded tape with Michael Azerrad in '92 and '93) set against the visual landscapes of Aberdeen, Olympia, and Seattle, WA scored by Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab For Cutie) along with the music that Cobain himself grew up on (CCR, Queen, The Vaselines, Mudhoney, Scratch Acid, Bad Brains, etc.).

I found the insights of Cobain set against some excellent cinematography of the places he grew up in extremely effective. It was especially effective because we didn't hear a note of Nirvana music, which put Cobain's words in an entirely different context.

Definitely recommend it if you get the chance to see it. (y)
