i sure did get some harsh comments on a modeling site i went to. :(

are you trying to go into modeling? if so, id say get used to criticism. everything on your body will be overly analyzed, and there will be someone to dislike every single one of your traits. always expect the worst. then it will be extra nice when you get compliments. i think it shows balls that youd even try something like that, and confidence goes a long way.

i'm not going to try to reassure you that you're beautiful, etc. because i honestly have no idea what you look like. im sure you have to be at least fairly attractive though to even think that you had any business on a modeling website. chin up.

it's true. everyone says everyone is attractive here.

seriously though, if you catch a lot of shit from people judging you as a model, or if modeling doesnt work out for you, dont take it too seriously. you pretty much cant actually be human and be a model i think.

except now that i think about it all the girls i can think of who's pictures ive seen up here were actually really hot...

She posted a pic in the family album. She's cute! But very young, and she has braces, and looks way too sweet to get swept up in the shitstorm that is modeling. Seriously.

Girly, you should look more at doing some acting, at least that's a skill whereas modeling is just show up and look nice type of thing. Maybe look into some acting classes or something, a lot of times that goes along with modeling.

kay, found your pictures, and this is what i have to say:

yeah, for as long as you have braces, i dont think modeling is gonna happen BUT, in the long run, you'll have way sexier teeth than most people, so whatever. i wish i had really nice teeth

also, either you're really good at makeup, or you've got really nice skin for a teenager. in either case, thats gotta be a plus

if modelin/fashion/cosmetics is something you're interested in, work on those skills. looking good really is a chore. i feel like i could probably be really pretty if i did something with myself, but i have no fashion sense and im pretty horrendously bad at putting on makeup, so i just look kinda slobbish all the time. so thats something that really needs to be practiced, i think.

i typed what im about to say now a few different ways, because what i mean is really good but it sounds kind of assinine. you look like you'll grow up to be a very pretty woman. in that i dont mean you're not pretty now, just, you know, i can only find a teenage girl so attractive. but you're def. not a bad lookin girl (y)

well, as an example, i think im a pretty average looking person, but right now i have a really shitty haircut, and i cant do anything to my hair to make it look decent, so when people look at me, or at least when i look at me, what i think is "gah what ugly hair" and not "oh i look nice today" the shitty hair kinda overshadows any good qualities i may posses.

"For the love of Inbreeding, and 1 branch on the Family Tree!

You also, did NOT choose the correct category you wish to be in. You chose "Makeup," and you won't be doing that."

Merchelle, Aishawn's mom

"No you're not
Please no more threads, your pictures are so bad I'm sure no one wants to see them more then once. "

^ i asked if i was model material.

"You have no stats up and the pictures you've posted are ridiculous. Have you read one word about what the modeling industry is about, or is this some kind of joke?

You need to take this more seriously if you actually want people on here to give you any words of advice. "

So, there's two catergories of women - those who are hot, and those who are not fortunate enough to be classified as such? The ugly ones?

Everybody knows that people judge you based on appearance. You can change the way people percieve you simply by changing the way you look. By paying attention to how you dress and present yourself, you can create the illusion of being hotter. Some girls are just lucky enough to make it look effortless.

this person may have had a legit argument, if not worded poorly. i dont know what particular pictures you posted, but what i read this as is, this forum is for posting pictures that would be like, portfolio quality. if you posted pics of yourself in a tshirt, i could see how it would be badly received. also, if its obvious that you're not exactly fitting in with the crowd (they all have glamour shots and you have pictures your mom took in the back yard), i could see where they would want to rip you apart. in any message board, outsiders tend to get attacked.

if you got it you got it if you don't you don't. there's not really much you can do about it. trendy clothes and makeup can only go so far.

i tend to loose respect for people that put a lot of effort into their looks. any kind of looks. either it be the typical hot bitch with makeup and trendy clothes or the punker with wild hair and wild clothes. just keep yourself clean and tidy. but i will admit there someone can be so beautiful that it can overshadow a lot of things including putting a lot of effort into their looks. but if i think that someone is that attractive it's probably because they just have naturally good looks.

i put up that picture of me in the family album smiling, and then this other picture of me in a hat and scarf. i posted a comment saying that i've never done photo shoots blahblahblah and some chick said that you don't need glamour shots, you just need regular pictures that show your face good. they have some kind of insructions you HAVE to read if you are a new member there and it tells all about how you are suppossed to take good pics so you don't embarrass yourself. i obviously just browsed through the instruction link.

i dont really care that much about it. i wasnt complaining about my hair, just giving an example i could readily think of about how minor changes can make a big difference in overall appearance. ive had a really shitty aweful haircut for going on two years now. i got it cut suuuuuupppper short (above my ears) and growing it out has been a challenge. the back always grows faster and turns into a mullet so i have to get that cut and ive had a strink of back luck with things like, once a hair cut lady accidently cut a chunk of hair out almost to the scalp at the base of my skull, so i had to let that grow out, then get it all cut again to even it out. in any case, im kinda used to my shitty hair. it used to bother me but now im like "meh"

i figure i'll grow it all out longish and then figure out what to do with it. its almost long enough now to pull it all back, so im making good progress

TurdBerglar

i hate people that relly too much on their appearance to express themselve. it's just a waste of time and effort and is silly. express yourself with your thoughts. and no one ever wants to express who they really are when using looks. they always use looks to express something they wish they were and it is very misleading. it is very rare to find someone that thoughtfully uses their looks to express themselves and it's genuine to who they really are.

russhie
12-11-2007, 01:27 AM

TurdBerglar
12-11-2007, 01:30 AM
it's a whole lot harder to fake actions and words. and it's much easier to read when someone is faking through actions and words. there's more emotion evolved in actions and words. harder to fake emotions.

there's nothing wrond with that. it's when people go out and purposely buy shit and put all this effort to "express" themselves to OTHERS. if you genuinely like it than there's nothing wrong with it at all.

I beg to differ.

Words can be empty and meaningless. Gestures can be made for all the wrong reasons. I don't think it's any harder to maintain a falsified physical appearance than it is to say and do all the 'right' things.

Buying something based on the premise that it will make you hotter/more acceptable is often what makes an item more attractive in the first place. In that case, you can't seperate the two and pretend that you've purchased an item based purely on functionality with the happy side effect of making you hotter.

I never said that being hot was a skill that every woman needs/wants. I pointed out that maintaining your appearance, and looking good in pictures can be considered a skill.

mmm maybe your not right for a modeling in particular. you can try other kinds of modeling.

some models can be useful.
models for art classes, or for sculptors and painters, events. i dunno those are the models I see useful. I say this has more skill in being still. still as a tree. its crazy.

in business wise models of all gender grab attention and sell products if they are present as beautiful sexy people. so, for business its a good thing. other than that its a usless skill.

how tall are you? that's the main criteria for models. and being skinny. most clothes-horse models are freakishly tall and skinny. it sounds like a nasty world to want to enter into tho... and i don't think it's a particularly nice life. dunno *shrug*

my niece has been trying for a while to get into it. she's pretty stunning, but she's just not tall enough.

like dandy said, i'd go for the acting thing. or maybe be a doctor/surgeon or lawyer. that's way more useful in life.
