Anyone have one or messed around with one?
just curious...my gf's brother has one that is collecting dust am I'm gonna try to finagle it from him.
They rule. I practically never use Photoshop without one.
I heard a description of learning to use a Wacom compared to using the mouse - "like drawing with a pencil after trying to draw with a brick."
Seems pretty true to me.

yeah, I never would consider "drawing" with a mouse besides using Illustrator to manip lines, paintbrushes and the like
but I've seen some sick digital paintings (concept art) and am inspired to try it out

I heard that kind of gear was unstable, but that was a few years ago.
I'd quite like to try one too :/
The real advantage is the pressure sensitivity. Unlike trying to change the opacity settings on the mouse to get good fades or adjusting the cursor size constantly to get tiny details - the wacom pen has like 10,000 levels of sensitivity (depending on what model) and it'll draw things more or less opaque or smaller or larger depending on how hard you push down.

i like the ones where u draw on the screen, 1000x more intuitive. i have one built into my laptop/tablet screen, it rules (y) I don't really get a lot of use out of it tho, except for showing off :p and it's pretty cool being able to hand write messages in msn too

and thanks again for drawing me that porn vag (y)
they rule in PS and painter, I can make realistic watercolours using the wacom sensitivity/tilt thingies in painter.
