She was "in complete and total shock." Because she didn't know how babies are made?

Maybe if she wasn't having sex and got pregnant then I could understand complete and total shock....

i like the part where her mom mentions being shocked and saying that jamie lynn is always home by curfew. i can understand why she's shocked, since everyone knows that people can only get pregnant after curfew.

I was talking with some colleagues yesterday about Britney (this does not hapen often, I assure you) and one of them posed the question, do you think that Britney is all like loopy and messed up because of 'fame', or is she just in fact acting out natural 'trailer park princess' tendencies which would have manifested anyway regardless?

I hadn't thought of that, but it does make a lot of sense, doesn't it. And now this news kind of makes it seem even more like the whole Spears clan is essentially a group of Springer guests who won the lottery.

that's disney for you though. season 3 isn't even over yet and they already have the next one completed

it would have been a darn shame if the zoey 101 lovers of the world had to live with a cliffhanger end of the series!

WOW - both sisters are trashy whores. Maybe season 4 of her show can be abouot a teen with the world by the balls uses her family to raise her child for her while she continues to party.

So the dude's 18 or 19. That's statutory rape, isn't it?

I don't know what state they live in.

I can't believe I know this stuff. I'd never even heard of this girl before this.

they live in louisiana, i think.

if that's the case, i doubt it could be considered anything. i think they are the ones who have their consent to marriage age at 14

Is this a big deal because she is keeping it (I didn't read the link)? I'm sure there have been many a girls in the public eye that got pregnant when they were real young, they just probably didn't keep it.

The timing is bad for her mom. A publisher that specializes in Christian books and educational materials, etc. was about to publish Spears'
mom's book about raising children right.

Why anyone would want to publish that woman's book, after all of Britney's bullshit, is beyond me. Yeah -- really swell child you
raised, there.

So now the book is "delayed," they say. Just "delayed," not canceled.

I assume that means they already had a press run.

Rock
12-20-2007, 02:55 PM
Ahhh, so its more of a point and laugh at the mom that is, not the mom to be. I see. Makes more sense now.

abcdefz
12-20-2007, 03:00 PM
I think it's a bit of both.

"Look at those slutty Spears girls!"

Runs in the family, etc.

Plus the book deal.

I'm still amazed that anyone would publish mama Spears' advice about how to raise kids.

Maybe Mrs. Hilton has something to say on the subject, as well.

When I was in high school (mid '80's, Indiana), we had probably less than half a dozen pregnancies among about 600 girls. Maybe it's more of a
rite of passage now, but I still think it was pretty rare.

yeah out of my whole graduating class, the class before mine, and the class after mine i can't think of seriously more than like 2 girls who had babies while being high-school-age. (i actually can't think of a single one, but there had to at least been one or two, right?). did know some who had abortions, but yeah, i could still could count them all on one hand with fingers to spare. it wasn't common at all.

maybe gmile will come in here and correct me though, i'm curious if he knew of anybody getting pregnant

Not sure why that's ridiculous. If i let my daughter have her boyfriend sleep over / sleep over at her boyfriend's, then how the hell is she supposed to learn valuable sneaking around and making up a cover story skills?

I read this article in the paper today about how she portrays a virginal role model on TV, so I guess that's part of the point.

Funny thing is, I keep reading about how irresponsible she was, etc. etc., but nothing about how irresponsible the guy was. He's the legal adult.

Though I'm living proof that contraceptives don't always work, so maybe it was just a sheer accident.

My parents allowed my highschool sweetheart to stay the night a few times...except here's the thing...My parent made sure I was on the pill and i knew where babies came from!

oh and I was just reading this from celebwarship.com

Jamie Lynn Spears’ aunt, Chanda McGovern, gave an interview in which she claimed the 16 year old actress may have gotten pregnant on purpose. Chanda said Jamie Lynn might have been looking for some “me attention” in the wake of her big sister’s bad behavior. Britney Spears virtually dropped off everyone’s radar once news broke of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy.

“I do believe Jamie Lynn may be feeling the disruption of the family with everything that’s going on,” she says. “It may be one of the reaons she went out and did what she did, and whether she got pregnant on purpose or by accident, that’s the reason she went out and rebelled. She wants a little bit of ‘me’ attention, with everything that’s going on with Britney like it is.”

Chanda thought Jamie Lynn should have learned from Britney’s struggle as a single mother.

“I hope it would be a reason for her not to have gotten pregnant,” Chanda says of Britney’s problems (she is currently battling ex Kevin Federline over custody of their two sons).

“I believe Jamie Lynn is entirely too young to be sexually active. She’s got her whole life ahead of her, she’s just a baby herself and 16 is entirely too young to be sexually active.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn’s baby-daddy, 19 year old Casey Aldridge, has managed to keep a low-profile since news of the pregnancy went public. Casey, who still lives in the small town in Mississippi where he grew up, isn’t ready for the spotlight, according to his uncle.

“I don’t think they are ready yet to sit down and talk to the media,” Odus Jackson, a pastor in Gloster, Miss., said by telephone Thursday. “They haven’t gotten their heads together yet.”

“He doesn’t want to say the wrong thing to the media,” Jackson said. “At the right time he will speak.”

Casey is currently employed as a pipe-layer, which brings all kinds of lulz to me.

Bingo. Nothing that anyone in this family does should come as shock to anyone anymore.

So the dude's 18 or 19. That's statutory rape, isn't it?

It should be. I remember back in high school ('88) my friend Mark was 17 and he was going with a girl who was 16. Long story short, her dad caught them screwing and Mark was looking statutory rape charges for a couple of weeks until the father dropped them. The poor kid was scared shitless.

regardless of her being britney spears sister and all that,
it really is a shame that a lot of kids go through without learning about birth control. I feel so lucky that I had a Mom like mine to really sit me down and be realistic about it. I think a lot of it had to do with because she was a young Mom and no one ever talked to her about it.
