2 days ago I walked into my local border books music section and see a whole area for singles. They have some pretty shitty stuff like Kelly Clarkson and past American Idol winners. All the shit is overpriced like Eminem "Toy Soliders" single for $8.99, a vast amount of The Fray singles between $3.99 and $6.99, and even patriotic songs by no one knows/gives a fuck. And all the shit my eyeballs are looking at is old(like 2000-2003) stuff. Really, wtf?

Bullshit! Singles are the only place to get the b-sides that you want when you've listened to sombody's album ad-nauseum and you still want more.

Yeah, it's a waste of money for the actual music that you get - but they're great fun when you love the band and just can't get enough.

AGREED! and 12" singles RULE b/c you usually get a remix or an instumental along with it. TOTALLY worth the money for a DJ.

edit: didn't see that DT said a similar thing. <3

Yes, I think I've only seen two of them. One was a Leonard Cohen single.

I had:

Stand - REM
Chimes of Freedom EP - Bruce Springsteen
A 4-song greatest hits CD by the Raspberries (which is just about right, really)

...some other ones I can't remember.

Not all CD trays could accommodate them, so there were also these little adapters you could snap them into so they'd be the size of
regular CDs. It was hard to do without breaking the adapter or the CD-3. (n)

Singles is a not very good movie with an even worse soundtrack.

Man, I was so psyched for that, after seeing Say Anything.

We got to the stupid "I gave him my garage door opener" monologue and decided we'd had enough, and walked out.
