Rescue Dawn

Is probably the best war movie created for the next 10 years.

I think Saving Private Ryan took the position from 98-2008.

Flags of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima were the most recent war movies but, they haven't had nearly as much impact as Rescue Dawn has.

Also I think Vietnam based movies are the best ones being that in this day in age, the Vietnam war is still close to home for most of us.

Rescue Dawn also has a great cast, some funny parts like the guy who was narrating the training tape the flight crew was watching. Man, I was laughing hard during that part.

Also, great acting and such a gripping, sobbing story. Man, those p.o.w.s went through some extreme shit but I like how they strengthened up towards the end.

Yeah and how he was losing more and more of his mind. He did a great job acting insane. The way he ran, everything.

Bale did an outstanding job. How he melted through the movie. You can see his eye sockets towards the end. That's dedication, to do your best such as starving yourself to make a movie as realistic as possible.

I saw this a little while back. I liked it. But one thing, when they do their little runabout near the end, where does everyone else go?!! The all bloody vanish!

at futureshop they had a huge dvd sale, and i got it for $10. i'll try and watch it soon.

I f'ing loved this movie. and yeah, i watch ALOT of war movies and this is definately the best ive seen in a long time.

Supposedly Ed Norton got a call from Arnold after when American History X came out.

Norton was saying in interviews that he bulked up in three months on just protein, so Arnold called him to warn him about steroids.
Norton insisted he didn't use, and Arnold kinda said, "Uh huh" and continued the lecture.

they don't need or bother with steroids. it's well publicized by the actors themselves, their publicists, and the media how much physical training, time spent in gyms, and the access they have to many top notch personal trainers. plus the special diets they're placed on in which they receive all the carbs and protein they need. there is though the serious risk to one's health when constantly dropping and adding dramatic amounts of weight and muscle in such short periods of time, and consistenly doing so over a number of years. bale seems fine, however i know that matt damon experienced serious problems after filming courage under fire, a role in which he dropped forty pounds and after filming had to take medication due to the impact the weight loss had on his adrenal gland.

Zahn getting beheaded was fuckin' brutal in a subtle kind of way.

? they get surrounded by villagers with pitchforks and scythes and shit. zahn and bale get on their knees and started bowing to them, then one of them swings at zahn and gets his thigh? he screams his head off then the same villager swings again and you hear it, then bale takes out his machette and screams at them in a 'i'm gonna fucking kill you' way and you can see zahn's headless body fall over. it's near the end... then bale starts hallucinating and hugs him at times and shit.
