btw, the "flattop" has been around for decades, dating back to the 40's and 50's. The milatary adapted this style for thier recruits as well. just a little info for the people that thought flattops were for the 80's and 90's.

I don't think Nintendo would do this, mainly because they had nothing at all to do with it... maybe whatever company was working on it might revive it in some form one day.
I'm pretty into video games personally, I don't get why some old timers think they're such a waste of time but embrace other forms of entertainment.

Dont get me wrong, I loved video games when I was younger. I also loved wrestling but when a kid reaches that age and says to himself "its time for me to grow up" you know he has to put those days behind him. I still love playing some old school games like street fighter and gauntlet, but todays games are just too "kiddy" for me.

Taken from wikepedia article for a game made in 1989 called DJ BOY also made by Kaneko .....
" In 1992, a sequel, B.Rap Boys! was produced and contained similar designs and content, although Kaneko, perhaps intending to deflect further criticism, made one of the player characters black. Electronic Gaming Monthly revealed in an interview with the Beastie Boys that Kaneko had wanted to license their images for an arcade game, which most likely turned out to be this game. [1] "

theres no comparison between a message board and a video game. You cant compare the two. Im sorry, I dont see it. My message board was created for many reasons, including a monetary income. If people make money playing video games (besides game testers) then more power to them. I hope alot more people do it. But as far as I know, the people in the gaming industry making the money are the programmers, not the players.
my message board is just like the beastie boys one. I have artists that post on my site like K7, Johnny O, Frankie Cutlass & Debbie Deb. I even have a few that post incognito like the beasties do on here.
Now, if you compared, lets say.....my star wars collecting to video games, then you have something to talk about.

I think you might find that the one rule about over 30s is once you get there, you needn't really give two shits about what other people do to relax. Especially if they're adults. Sadly, I'm only 27 so I'm not quite there. With that in mind, I'd like to kindly invite your clarinet/soothsaphone-playing, high-heeled-boot-sporting, jarheaded-greasy-forehead-flaunting ass skip to your usual barrage of 'BWAHAHA's and spare us the tedium of your own pretending you haven't posted more times than any one of the people who "need to get out more" in this thread.
Seriously, you picked the screen-name 'Kenny G'-uido. I'm gonna bump 'Just' in your honour, and repeat the chorus a number of times. Bold gamble on your part that never paid off. Should have gone the safe route with a Simpsons reference. Poor little you. (n)

From: http://www.beastiemania.com/qa/videogames.php
If things had been different in 1992, you could have been guiding Adrock, MCA or Mike D around the screen at your local video arcade. A game was actually made by the Kaneko Company where you and two friends could control each of the Beasties as they travel through different platform style levels. A prototype cabinet was made using the 'Check Your Head' logo on one side and a white picture of the Beastie Boys on the other. The control panel had each of the Beastie's names next to each joystick. A CD player inside the cabinet plays tracks from "Paul's Boutique" and "Check Your Head" and as expected any swearing is beeped out.
The different levels consisted of:
* Dodging eggs being thrown at them for 30 seconds
* Standing on a giant moving turntable while avoiding "The Turntable King"
* Get their microphones back
* Get their instruments back
* Get back to PJ's for their live performance
When all these levels are complete you win the RIAA Award and it all starts again. [AstroBBoy: maybe they should just go and visit 9th Beastie's house - he has a stack of their awards].
The game was never released as it never received licensing from the Beastie Boys or Grand Royal.

my life doesnt revolve around quotes from a cartoon. I dont have enough time in my life to watch tv. family, work and my house is more important than sitting around watching cartoons.

Calm down Yo, I was being serious.
I like NYC Freestyle music, but if you would have said Johnny O.>> Stevie B. we woulda had to fight.(y)
You are kind of overstepping it a bit when you mention the Beasties in the same sentence as any goofy 80's freestyle people.
The Beasties are singlehandedly the most innovative and progressive Hip-Hop artists ever. They've arguably pushed the boundaries of the entire genre of hip-hop farther than anyone, all while maintaining the highest level of credibility with everything they've ever been proffessionally involved with.
Stevie B & Johnny O and the like have NEVER made anything of relevance. It's just music to shake your ass to.
KENNY GUIDO
12-31-2007, 02:31 PM
freestyle did make big strides in music, but unfortunately, gangster rap overshadowed it and freestyle inability to expand its sound kept it from growing.
the beasties are truly innovators and are arguable the fathers of hip hop. I never said they weren't. I am a huge fan of freestyle but a I am a fan of other forms of music.
I know artist like Johnny O and Stevie "ego" cant hold a candle to the beasties but they are still artists and deserve the respect that others get as well. They are still performing and still creating new music, even though the whole world doesn't know. That's why it went back underground. They did a show recently at MSG to a nearly sold out crowd. not bad, eh?:D

I would like to take this moment to apoligize to all those that I offended about my video game comments. Like I said , was a big fan of video games but I just dont see this whole new "gamer" generation as something of importance. I dont see much of a difference from my site and the Beasties. I just dont have the ravaged fans that this site has! The beastie's site is the "official" beastie site. My site, I guess it's official now because not only do the arists come to my site, but I have radio stations that help promote it and clubs that do as well. Both sites offer different information, thats all. My site is filled with Beastie's historic affiliates like Fever records and singers like Brenda K Starr and Tony Moran (now known as MASTERS AT WORK).
lets just end this all here and we can all have a happy new year!
Now im going to play some METAL SLUG! :)
