Alas, this wonderful Christmas season has brought my girlfriend much joy with the gift of a new digital camera...but for fucks sake the PNY SD flash card decided to crash already (with some endearing pictures on it), only 9 days old.

I called Bestbuy asking one of their "Geek" Squad members (more like inbred idiot invalid Squad) what kind of recovery software was available online I could use and he had no idea and didn't even try to challenge his feeble brain with the problem.

I am under the impression that the "Geek" Squad is just a bunch of losers acting all important with their fancy attire and corded headsets strapped to their skulls like the Universeal Soldier while suffering from World of Warcraft withdrawal as they wander around the store aimlessly helping nobody.

Anyone here have any suggestions for a free and reliable flash card recovery software? I know you like to take pictures!

Thanks....and no thanks to the Bestbuy Geek Squids

You might want to reformat your card but maybe try this little program first. Rescue Pro Demo (http://www.lc-tech.com/software/rprodeluxedetail.html). You might need a card reader.

You really shouldn't trust a majority of the Geek Squad folks. Most, and not all, are former floor associates who've been boosted up when the more talented individuals realised what kind of morons they were working for and quit. They're pretty expensive considering what kind of work they do. You are a lot better off going to one of the smaller computer repair companies. Also, PNY is cheap for a reason.

true that and thanks for the suggestions, I tried a few data recovery programs (free...more like shite too) and nothing, returned it and got a new one with hopes it'll hold up
