How excited are you about seeing Sly killing lots of people again?(y)
I can't wait myself

Not only am I completely fucking ecstatic for the movie, but I also had a neighbor who had a dog named Rambo who went blind and deaf, and yet still found ways to navigate through their house. Dare I say I admired that dog.

This should work out well.

What do you have against Rambo, anyway? The first one is fantastic, the second one decent, and the third one is the Rocky 5 of the Rambo's. I'm just curious.
And the Ihop thing works out well. You're driving.

First Blood (the first Rambo movie) is quite good, actually. It's worth checking out. (y)

Dare I say I think Stallone is one of the finest American actors to ever live.
Don't even get me started on Rocky. That shit was practically filmed in my living room.
I've often thought of getting a Limo-Bus and starting a "Rocky Tour"

The man is Philadelphia Royalty. Are you serious about the finest American actor crack?
I know what you mean about the Rocky Tour, though. We did a Hitchcock tour in San Francisco a few years back. Mrs. Doubtfire had the nicest house.
I have no interest in Rambo 2008, either. I mean, Rocky 2007 was bad enough -- wasn't it?
I have no car.
The whole Rambo fantasy just doesn't appeal to me at all.
i rented the first one expecting a rambo fantasy, with sylvester stallone shooting like a million people with a machine gun, but it turned out to be not at all that kind of movie. it was some stupid crap about a small town turning its back on a vietnam veteran and FOR GOD'S SAKE WHEN IS SOMEONE GONNA SHOOT SOMEONE I DONT WANT NO STORY
anyway my point is that the first one isn't really any more of an action movie than rocky is

First Blood is one of the best films ever made. There's so many great bits, my favourite being the completely inexplicable destruction of the petrol station.
Ive posted this before but it has some of my favourite dialogue in film history:
Teasle: Whatever possessed God in heaven to make a man like Rambo?
Trautman: God didn't make Rambo. I made him!
----------
Teasle: Are you telling me that 200 of our men against your boy is a no-win situation for us?
Trautman: You send that many, don't forget one thing.
Teasle: What?
Trautman: A good supply of body bags.
----------
Rambo: Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn't let us win! And I come back to the world and I see all those maggots at the airport, protesting me, spitting. Calling me baby killer and all kinds of vile crap! Who are they to protest me? Who are they? Unless they've been me and been there and know what the hell they're yelling about!
Although that last one has to be delivered by an almost unintelligible weeping Sly to give it its proper power
all i wanted was something to eat...but they kept on pushin

Well, I realize his acting skills leave a lot to be desired, but tell me what other actor had two franchises more successful than Rocky & Rambo. Rocky4, the worst one IMO, is the most successful sports movie of all-time. That shit made over 300 million at the box office, and that was back in the day when going to the theater only cost $5.
The man knows he's not some shakespearean type actor and I don't think he's ever tried to be. He works with what he's got so to speak.
I'm obviously biased, but I know a lot of people who thought Balboa was a really good movie.

No doubt the first Rocky was great. It's just been done too many times...Rocky 4 is which one? With Drago? Well, that was a straight comedy, right there.
But we're talking Rambo here. Yes, he took the Vietnam war, commie scare, and ridiculousness of action flicks and turned them into a franchise. I am slightly curious to see what he does to al queada but I've got better things to do with my $12 and 2 hours.
I have three words for you: "Over The Top"

Then the last title card came up. I didn't realize Stallone directed the movie, also.

I'd defend his acting in the first Rocky movie anyday. However they got that performance on film, he was fantastic.
Also very good in Copland.

Ok, today's the day. I'm hosting a full blown "Stallone Day".
Big Sexy 101 and George the Animal are coming over and were going to watch "First Blood" on my 50" flat panel with the surround sound speaker system.
Then were all headed down to the Art Museum steps to pay homage to the Rocky Statue, take some pics and run up the steps.
Then we're headed to the theatre to see Rambo, followed by drinks at the bar in Balboa where little Marie was bartending. It's called "Bentley's Place" IRL.
Yeah I know, I'm fuckin' retarded.

I'm guessing you already saw the movie, because he does exactly that,...and it's gory as hell. In fact the whole movie was a gore-fest.
Bow & Arrow, Machette, 9mm, M-16, the 50 cal., he even utilized the old trusty Rambo knife with daft precision. Hell he even killed some of these fuckers with his bare hands.
It was fucking beautiful.

I actually saw this last night, just to see how ridiculous it really was. Keep in mind I've never actually seen any of the other movies in the franchise/series/whatever.
Whoa. That shit was intense. Plus the theatre I was in was so damn loud that I felt like I actually was at a war zone. There was some odd pleasure about seeing a dude get completely blown up by a gatling gun at extremely close range. I did enjoy that part.

Robocop is a fucking fantastic movie, and I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to see it. It just sounded so incredibly stupid, but
I didn't realize the filmmakers were in on the joke, too. Great, great movie.
If you can ever see the full version that was rated X at the time, see it. It's not that much longer, but in a couple of scenes the violence
is so incredibly over the top it's just amazing.
Yeah, but anyway. I'm pretty damned certain the Rambo doesn't deserve to carry Robocop's jock.
