Waiting for a call back on some info for pre classes.
My gi bill expires in 2010 so I better hurry and get on it. My mom and wife were trying to convince me that I should go to school and take some advanced security courses since I've got more than 12 years experience and training in both foreign and domestic areas.
Nah, fuck that. It gets old. Having to "feel" everyone out that you encounter while on the job. Basically viewing them as a suspect. Innocent till proven guilty has went out when the brady bunch went out. Plus, you take it home with you, emotions gathered from handeling everyone else's problems.
I don't enjoy that at all. I do enjoy music and recording. Shit, playing guitar and writing lyrics and poetry all day and get paid while being professional at it?yeah, count me in.
Cmon now, I called almost an hour ago and left a message. They said they will return the call asap. Asap was 40 mins ago.

Yeah yeah, ya know, the whole bit where john travolta pulls up and jumps outta a taxi and says "pull ovah, I gotta DAAANCE".
Kids dancing in fire hydrant puddles and stuff.

MSM is one the best music conservatories in the country... scratch that, world.
its up there with Juilliard, Berklee and Peabody
are you interested in jazz or classical composition? I would also consider Mannes (New School) or even CUNY City College in Harlem if you are serious about this...

just tab. Self taught but I need to study and learn. I'm familiar with notes and scales and theory as well but, I dont know them as much as I want to.

for sure, jazz is one of my interests. I want to be able to make timeless music and also make it suitable for when I get old.
I dont want to be like David lee Roth singing 'jump' with banjos and shit backing him up.
I'll check into cuny but I need to make sure it's not much of a travel cause I'll be still working and going to work after classes.

i am imagining that things like theory will be at the core of any program that you would be getting into, so the lack of more traditional training might hurt you in that regard.
you seem to have a good feel for the music, but it might come down to your ability to pull chord progressions and harmonic structures out of some given piece to be able to analyze is properly
good luck either way man (y)
