Chinese nearly every time - i live next door to a chinese takeaway so its a no brainer really ,I'll have duck in plum sauce and the missus will have beef fried rice with cashews and garlic- other than that - its gotta be pizza. Ham,pineapple and pepperoni is the only way to go washed down with a nice garlic bread with cheese.

Pineapple has no place on a pie!....jus sayin....;)...never fish and spud from your chipper?....wrapped in newspaper...do they still do that?

they do chips but not in newspaper but i have never been a big fan - the quality varies so much from chipper to chipper and places that specialise in other stuff dont always do the greatest chips - next door is ok at that but their chinese food is awesome plus we always get free prawn crackers and a coupla quid discount. Its called the golden eagle but as i am next door neighbour i just call it "jim's"

I take sushi home alone because i hate eating alone at restuarants. so I avoid them when I can, but if I get a sushi craving I cant ignore it.
it works well in the winter because it stays nice and chilled on the walk home.

Why are people so uncomfortable doing things alone?
MC Moot
01-21-2008, 09:52 AM
I have my exceptions I guess...like I like to grab a paper and do the counter at the diner solo...or Thursday's when you could still smoke in pubs,I used to snag the weekly art's and entertainment rag, have a pint, smoke, plan weekend, eat lone wolf like...I suppose if I can read I'm good...I find taking a meal to be a sociable event...

I do everything alone. everything. I just dont see the need to go out and eat alone in a restaurant, since that would seem like an "extravagance". eating out with friends is atleast social and its easier than cooking at home for multiple people (which I enjoy but its not always possible especially mid-week with a busy schedule. that and the fact that have almost no friends left in this town). Id rather walk to the grocery store alone, walk home alone, cook alone, and eat alone because atleast that eats up an entire evening of loneliness and it didnt cost me 3 times the amount of money.

Man, I hate it when they do this.
So I place the order for eight people. Twenty minutes goes by and the lady calls back and says they can't do three of the eight dishes because
there isn't time to thaw out the lamb or chicken. She keeps trying to push the goat.
"Goat? Goat?"
What do they do if a customer orders it right there in the restaurant?
That's fucked up.
Two to three days notice for the whole chicken? Are you fucking kidding me?
Aaaaaaaaarrrgh.
MC Moot
01-25-2008, 03:15 PM
Of course they're trying to push the goat...nobody wants the goat...goat is gamey...that aftertaste...the only people who do goat right are the Jamaicans...with rice and beans, chucks of tomato and a Heineken....proper....(y)

chutney is rude...but I semi-concur cause I've been to a couple of Sikh weddings where they did this goat dish that was literally cooked for 2 days in these ginourmous pots...cooked that gamey swamp taste right out...it was amazing...fuck now I have a craving for butter chicken just for the sauce to dip some hot nan in....heaven on earth....

and for lunch I had a big ole plate of lebanese assorted goodies. I could eat that shit every day.
tonite we are eating my leftover pasta I made last night. I used a hot italian sausage as the base, added some olive pesto, then some deli green and calamata olives. rounded it out with some onion, garlic, assorted peppers and fresh tomato/canned. topped with some asiago cheese. I cant be modest because it was truly amazing.
we are also making a yellow bean/yellow beet salad for the side tonite also. cute little baby yellow beets mind you <3

1 order beef and broccoli = $14:50
1 order vegetable fried rice = $12:50
2 spring rolls = $7:20
M.S.G = free
The costs no longer add up, mind you this is better than average quality Western Chinese…but when ya order Chinese you need to be able to fly off the handle…and get like a minimum of 4 items outside the rice, you know?…and now days that ends up at 50-60 bucks, easy, and there is usually just the 2 of us….I wish we had San Francisco style Chinese in the smaller, box containers with the wire top thingy and the dragons on it…you know?....(y)

er yes i have had yum cha. it was pretty much the worst food experience of my life. i ended up drinking green tea the entire time.
if chinese wasn't intended for the lower class - why is there a concentration of chinese places in poor suburbs, and why is it so cheap.
