...shouldn't you have a Brooklyn accent all of the time? Not just when you get angry?

No.

No.

Why?

I dunno.

I only have a Texas accent when I'm really tired. I figure its the same kind of thing.

Edit: And I was born and raised in Texas.

idk. It reminds me of the whole Madonna-thing. All of the sudden she moves to England, few weeks later, talks with an accent.

But if there's a person who has lived in England for most of their life, they're not gonna come to America and talk all Americanese. That's just dumb.

I'm really irritated with this lady right now. Nevermind.

I JUST FIND IT VERY RETARDED THIS WOMAN ONLY TALKS WITH A BROOKLYN ACCENT WHEN SHE IS ANGRY- AND THEN HAS TO BRAG WHILE ANGRY THAT SHE'S FROM BROOKLYN.

Jesus. Okay?

it's like those British bands singing with American accents like ozzy but when they talk for interviews, they've got a huge British accent.

see as much as I'd like to slam Madonna for that I can't. Because honestly, if I moved to England I'd have an accent within hours of arriving. I'm not kidding and I wouldn't even be TRYING to talk that way. I have an uncanny ear for accents and i pick them up very easily. if I'm talking to someone with a southern accent I start to slide into a drawl. it just happens. I actually have try very hard NOT to mimic the accent of the person I'm talking too (I don't want them to think I'm mocking them).

Don't compare yourself to that dyke. Madonna's a bigger whore than we give her credit for.

I do the mimic thing too. I was hanging around a few guys with heavy Chicago (is that even really considered an accent?) speak - and I started doing it, and realized I was making fun of them. Hopefully they didn't notice.

I wonder if a mute doing sign language from Brooklyn has a different accent than one from Kentucky.

my mom's strong jersey accent only comes out when she's pissed; the rest of the time she speaks in this half american, half english sounding hybrid language.

Jesus. Okay?

what seems most annoying is that she points it out and brags about it. usually when people are truly lost in the moment they don't do that. so yeah, i approve of finding this particular person retarded.

that said, my new york does kick in when i'm drunk and/or mad, or, as we prefer to say, "emphatic." and since moving to the midwest 4 years ago my vowels have changed, especially when i'm trying to be really polite.

so yeah, it happens. but you can tell when someone's forcing it.

EDIT: I was not born & raised in BK, for the record. Manhattan, where we have less of an accent. But it comes in shades.
