It actually happened last October but we decided to wait to start planning until after the new year because I was still stressed out from the 5 weddings I was in last summer.

It was very sweet and completely unexpected. We went up to Victoria to take a little vacay and we were walking along the inner harbor walk and he kept stopping and looking around and was fidgeting a lot. Finally he lead me to the end of a long dock as the sun was setting and hugged me. He was still fidgeting and his heart was beating so fast I was like, did you drink too much coffee or something?

He kissed me and when I opened my eyes he was down on one knee with the ring. I was so shocked I almost fainted and fell in the water. My ears were ringing and I could barely hear him ask. I never understood the saying "burst into tears" but I totally did. Just all of a sudden I was crying. It was a really great moment, it went by too fast, though. I was too overstimulated to enjoy it.

I am very happy, we started planning and may have a date. You better make it up to Seattle, cookiepuss. You can stay at my house!

As far as the wedding itself, spend your money with care. It's just one day. Yes, it's very important one, but it's still one day. Save it for the honeymoon, or bills that you'll fight over in 5 months. Seriously, don't spend huge money on little things. Unless you're loaded, and throw it around anyway, then party on!
