I think this is brilliant. I don't expect anyone to remember but about a year ago I posted here about a seller who had left me really horrible negative feedback because I'd had the nerve to mark him only 3 stars on postage (whilst giving him a positive review and 5 stars in all other categories). So because there are arseholes like that - and clearly there must be several, for eBay to instute such a change - people are too scared now to give honest feedback about sellers.

^

I remember when that happened.

I kinda wish that what they'd do is let you enter feedback which is hidden from the other party until both people have left feedback; then
it gets released and either party may respond if necessary.

But I'm hardly ever on Ebay anymore anyway...

Yeah, that's a good policy. I had a friend who went through what Peachy went through -- she made a reasonable complaint about goods that were shipped four months late -- and the seller left her bad feedback in response even though she had paid immediately and followed up with loads of emails.

I haven't used ebay in ages, but when I did I refused to leave feedback for a seller until the seller left feedback for me. I figured that I did my bit by paying immediately. That warranted good feedback so why should the seller be able to hold me hostage.

^ i always would wait until they left feedback for me as well. but that was years ago when a lot of the stuff i wanted to get had those people who wouldnt sell to you unless you had so many positive marks

I go the india/pakistan approach with my feedback and wait for them to throw down their cards and leave good feedback. If they dont, and I am dissatisifed I wait until day 89 (90th day you cant leave it) and leave negative feedback :D ;)

Once I bought three Beastie Boys cd's from this Russian seller. One of them was faulty and I sent him at least
a dozen messages about it, if he could send a replacement copy or whatever.
I sent private mails, PM's through eBay and he never replied.
Also the billing address he gave me didn't work. So I gave him negative for the faulty cd and not replying,
and neutral for the rest. He gave me negative feedback for all the three cd's! F'ing cunt!
Of course he's not a seller anymore.
Those records were bootlegs as well, even tho he claimed otherwise...

In other ebay related news the proxy server at work now blocks ebay and I get dozens of calls and e-mails a day about it.....it's like "Hey why can't I slack off at work anymore??!" makes me want to punch people
