Well, would you?
I'd like to win it.
But I don't buy the tickets so, no I wouldn't win it.

The lottery is really just a tax on the poor...but I buy a ticket every Friday...If I won I think I'd be embarassed but I'd become a full time philanthropist...(y)

If I bought a ticket and was given the choice to have either a winning one or a losing one then yes, I would win the lottery.
What if it was a willy wonker winning ticket?

I buy a ticket every Wednesday and Saturday because it is important to at least try and escape having to work forever

i am a slave to the lottery as I have the same numbers - i should just do lucky dips but i am convinced thats an even bigger con.
Might do the Euro millions this week as its £95 million jackpot that must be won, although i dont know why as i have prolly got even less chance than normal of winning it!

Yeah the fuck'n lottery is foolish ,I concur...particularily the lack of responsibility in making the consumer aware of the odds...look who's playing, look who's losing and look at who's profiteering...

In California, the governor wants to privatize the lottery. Imagine how exploitive that will get.

You buy a case of beer the Gov warns you of the implications of it's useage, you buy a deck of smokes, the same...when you buy a lotto ticket you should recieve a similar, easily interpretted warning as to the facts...particularily while the Gov is the regulating and administrative authority of said product... Actually, I don't think we have warning labels on alcohol, which is kind of a shame. Yeah, most people know that alcohol and cigarettes are
bad for you, but the symbolism is appropriate, I think.

I dont trust the organization or the way its all divided up but i suppose i am one of the foolish who put a coupla quid a week is ok to have a very small chance of winning bigstyle.
You never know you might still win a tenner or summat.
After 15 years of playing i am massively down in money terms but i suppose i am totally conditioned into putting me numbers on(and me dad's which i inherited!).
Never mind - i could be writing from my big gold house tomorrow!

I'm the same,it's become purely habit a buy a newspaper and my ticket every Friday...it's bizarre but when I miss buying it for the Fri night draw if feel like I've messed up,same with missing the Fri paper cause then I have no T.V guide for the following week...maybe a touch of OCD...:o
At least here a percentage goes to funding Health care initiatives MRI's,diagnostic equip, children's hospitals...but I believe a LARGE amount of the public believe that all the coffers go to good or socially beneficial causes....wrong!

my mother won it once, when i was a kid. she only won a couple of thousand, but it was still cool. she still buys lottery tickets now even though now statistically she has probably not so much chance of winning again.

I play once in a while. Actually, I bought a ticket at the weekend and haven't checked it. Let me do that now.
I might not be back on here if I have won.

If I think about the odds and the payout it continues to make less sense...
Out of 7 numbers
Match Prize Odds/$2 Play
7 of 7 Share of 73% of Pools Fund* 1: 20,963,833
6 of 7 + Bonus Share of 5% of Pools Fund* 1: 2,994,883
6 of 7 Share of 5% of Pools Fund* 1: 76,791
5 of 7 Share of 17% of Pools Fund* 1: 1,280
4 of 7 $10 * 1: 60.6
3 of 7 + Bonus $10 * 1: 65.5
3 of 7 Free Play
Will this stop my habit?...hell no...I win free tick quite often $10 bucks a few times a year and once $70...:o

what's the proper etiquette for when someone gets you a scratch ticket for a gift and it's a winning ticket... a substantial win

My aunt gave me a scratchie for my birthday and I won $1000, I offered her money but she wouldn't take it. I was pleased.

Do any of you deserve it?

I would in a heartbeat...they say money can't buy happiness but I"m already unhappy so why not be unhappy and rich. At least then I could use my millions to get revenge on my enemies

They do say sitting around being filthy rich and lazy is the best revenge you can inflict upon people you haven't bothered to tell.

That can only be answered when i win it to find out what effect it has on me and what i do with it. I have some plans if i ever do but whether the shock gets to me is something i wont know until next saturday!

I think i deserve it, and that i would handle it well.
actually, any more than like 50 grand would freak me out. I wouldn't know what to do with it.
