One time ripping up carpet that was glued down to a concrete floor in a basement, I discovered long-standing really foul puddles of water.

about two thirds of all houses i've been in have carpeting atleast on the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms on the second floor.

i ripped up the carpet from my childhood bedroom last week. it was there when we had moved in 20 years ago... a lovely blue shag.

it was glued to the floor (morons) and the carpet had a layer of black rubber underneath it. over time, the black rubber had disintegrated but was still stuck to the floor so i spent an hour scraping toxic black rubber off a floor. i was wearing a dust mask but it still got all up my nose (n)
