I was scanning in some of my old graff flicks recently (I now own a computer and may even be online one day!) when I noticed this one's a 'sure shot' - I was wondering whether anyone else out there had any Beasties related graff shots - or any other band references while we're at it.

This one's from Sicily in about 1999ish.

(I've tried pasting the different codes from photobucket but can't seem to get it to show properly - sorry! - any suggestions?)

in the message window press the little button next to the speech bubble with a picture of a mountain on it. paste in just the URL, with no img codes.

You don't use photobucket codes here, just click on the yellow mountain view!

When Beasties played here in Stockholm in 1995 I saw some graffiti dedicated to them, done on the subway after the gig.

Damn good point - I basically meant it as a Beasties (or other bands) related graffiti thread - just in case I opened a whole flood gate of writers wanting to display their wares.

My general philosophy is fairly anything goes as I know people will post whatever they like regardless - and the pieces you posted were fresh, so, cool!

If you're asking if that's my panel piece I'd have to say that I can't take credit for it.

But as hitmonlee and russhie have pointed out - there may be feds checking the threads, so as with all web-based graff activities - those that know don't say and those that say...........;)

OK, so here's the 6 million dollar question for all Beastie Boys/Graffiti fanatics -

Does the Adrock tag in this picture from Subway Art have anything to do with Mr Horowitz? (I would start a new thread but graffiti-types like to hide in the shadows doing sneaky shit)

I had a friend that was convinced it was but personally I've always doubted it really.

If this is by the King Adrock that we know and love it basically pushes his Hip Hop credentials through the roof! -

Performing at Disco Fever and on Soul Train, being part of the early beginnings of Def Jam, having the 1st Rap record at #1 on Billboard, being there when 'It's Yours' was cut, basically being down with Run DMC, Public Enemy, Biz Markie, Tribe etc, the magical, musical output of the beastie boys etc, etc AND getting up in the legendary Subway Art!?

As if the other (true) stuff wasn't far-fetched?

I kind of doubt it was him because the early Graffiti scene was mainly in pretty hardcore neighbourhoods, their were a hell of a lot of writers, many of whom were potentially called Adam and because I've not come across any other mention of it among Beastie freaks.

However it could be him - in the Young and Useless days he was down with Cey and that would be about the right time period? They don't make a big fuss about graffiti but generally show a bit of inside knowledge, and their age and stuff fits in with the whole NY graffiti boom.

It's open to debate - I'm a huge fan of the beasties and graff but I'm no mega-expert on either. I've been wondering about this for years and I doubt there's more than a handful of people that really know the accurate answer.

Anyone?

judging by the peoples clothing it looks a lot like '78-'79... maybe earlier

i doubt adrock got the name "adrock" at age 13.

There's a big ass block of flats in Rotterdam covered in graffiti and it looks so cool. Everytime I walk past it I just have to look and I always discover new things in it.
