So I unplugged my PC at home for 10 days while on vacation and got home yesterday and got on with no problem. After about 2 hours of being on it, it just shut off.

Whenever I push in the power button, the fan starts for a second and then cuts off and the pc doesn't turn on. I waited about 30 minutes and tried it again and the fan went on and got very loud and the Windows XP loading page came up and then it shut off. I then tried it again a little later and it went back to the fan turning on for a quick second or so and then cutting off before any power lights came on.

I thought maybe it was overheating or something but just by checking the outside it was all pretty cool on all sides, front and back, top and bottom.

I tried unplugging everything and plugging it all back in and still no luck.

I'm thinking maybe I need to get some dust off and blow that shit all up in the fan (I didn't take off the case to see if it is actually dusty) but the "grill" on my pc is pretty dusty so I'm thinking maybe its that.

Anyone have any suggestions?

that sounds pretty similar to something that happend with an old pc of mine.
I beleive I had to open it up and replace the fan.
I had one of my nerdy computer tech friends help me with it. he took me to a computer parts store and helped me get the right stuff.
it wasn't hard to install.
