Tulips are prettier. But they droop quickly.
Drooping aside, I have always preferred tulips and had an aversion to the carnations.

i was just talking about this: shit flowers. carnations are pretty shit. carnations are old lady flowers. carnations belong on graves. go for the lily every time. they stain everything they touch, but meh.

tulips for sure.....is your man giving you a choice for V-Day?
I'm not a big flower gal but if I HAD to pick a bundle to get it would have to be peony's.
no. i was having a discussion with a male (not the b/f) and he went against my advice and bought the carnation over the tulips (they were the same price).

If I had to, then tulips. But I'd rather have sex or drink. Or both.
Classy.

Carnations can be okay in some arrangements, but I wouldn't lead with them.

You should start a "favorite flower?" thread, kll. It'd be interesting to see what people like.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Or maybe for a buttonhole or a hat or something, but I wouldn't give someone a bouquet of carnations
unless that's where we were and I just happened to pick them.

I should think you'd be hard pressed to find them in February, though. Or are you in the other hemisphere? I love peonies as well but they do have a very short season.

I like carnations, they remind me of junior high school. Also, because they come in such an unnatural array of colors.

Very hard pressed to find them in Chicago in February. ;) The speciality florists carry them but they last only a few days in this weather so it's kinda pointless. Or maybe that is the point.
