I'm needing to go next gen for gta4 so I was holding off till it came out just in case there was any price drops. But a browse through ebay turned up an xbox elite with 7 games and 9 month warranty going quite cheep. I ended up winning it for £280 + £20 postage. A new elite costs about £299 with no games, I believe.

Xbox 360's better not suck.

If the previous owner already registered it to their name online, I don't think you're covered by the 3 year warranty. And although they don't suck, they will suffer hardware failure.

if its an older molder, anything remotely new will be fine. I'm getting one for GTA4 too, but also for COD4 and Dead Rising..... I still don't regret buying a Wii, especially since super smash bros is coming out.

When i got my 360 in october I nabbed a bunch of old games quite cheaply - Gears, Command & Conquer 3, Dead Rising, Fight Night, Saints Row, Tomb raider Legend were all between £10 and £20.

It's pretty good. Got some things much better than GTA (shooting, being on foot) and some things not as good (driving).

If you can get it cheap though there's hours and hours of fun game in there.

I'm currently trying to complete it before GTA comes out but I keep buying other cheap games.

Dead Rising has been a recent favourite. Wow, that game is amazing once you get past the weird save system.

Oh, and crackdown. Everyone must play crackdown!

Dead Rising is cheap now. Does it do the zombie genre justice? I'm not sure about buying games until GTA4, as I've already had two repairs on my 360. You could bake scones on the back of it, it's so fucking hot. I hope it doesn't die again soon. They have given me 5 months worth of free LIVE tho.

Shit yeah! Id go as far as to say it does all single player story driven games great justice!!

It's a capcom game though so expect "old school" foibles like Bosses and stuff to face. If you liked a resident evil, you'll love it.

It's Dawn Of The Dead in video game form. I mainly picked it up because it was very cheap but I wouldnt have minded paying full price for this game.

It should be here tomorrow but me and my room mate are both working so I'm not sure if it'll get left with a neighbour or what. Thursday will probably be the first day I get to really play it as I'm off all day.

The games I got with it are Halo 3, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008, Forza 2, Colin Mcrae Dirt, Bioshock, Fightnight round 3, perfect dark zero. I'll probably be trading in fightnight and perfect dark pretty fast and picking up skate, the new need for speed and perhaps cod 4.

All good choices there - you should give fight night a try, admittedly I did only pay £15 for it new (Gameplay.com) so that always increases your enjoyment but it's a decent game.

Good game to bag yourself some pretty easy acheivements as well.

of the other games you mentioned trading, yeah, you are making a good move there. I'd say Burnout Paradise is better than the new NfS game but, shit yeah, if you are gonna just buy 2 games for it make them skate and CoD4.

I'd definatley recommend Paradise. It's a quality game, good on and offline and the soundtrack is really good.
