View Full Version : I Want To Say a Little Something That's Long Overdue
The Disrespect To Women Has Got To Be Through (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=517681&in_page_id=1770).
Not so much directly related to the beastie's, but sort of connected.
It's amazing how little amount of work is needed to make something fact

Yeah that article is a farce and worth next to nothing. Rap music doesnt create sexist people. Sexist people create rap music.

It was a massive loads of bollocks but did you see these comments at the bottom of the article:
not generally in favour of censorship, but rap is an exception. It is the most vile, hateful, worthless so-called musical form ever created. It should be wiped off the face of the earth.
- Paul Evans, Tamworth, England .
Rap music is so awful that I cannot bring myself to listen to it.
- Martin, Zurich, Switzerland .
What a pair of twats

au contraire!
Researchers randomly divided more than 200 students into three groups to measure how sexist they were.
In the control group, students did not listen to any music but their levels of sexism were measured through a questionnaire.
The second group listened to Sabotage by the Beastie Boys - a rap with non-sexist lyrics.
The final group heard Kill You by Eminem, which has a similar rhythm, but is sexually explicit and describes violence towards women. Lyrics include: "Bitch i'ma kill you! You don't wanna f*** with me, girls neither - you ain't nothing but a slut to me."
Researchers found the students who listened to rap music displayed "significantly higher" levels of sexism in their answers to the questionnaire.
This increased even after exposure to the rap with non-sexist lyrics.

Well, yeah, thats the reason i posted it in the general beastie boys discussion section. What I meant was that it wasn't really focused on the beastie boys but they were kind of connected. They could of used any rap song, but because they used the beasties it seemed appropriate to post it here.

And it's shocking that so many people can't differentiate between two totally different attitudes-allthough i must admit just about all recent r&b makes me wanna chew off my arm and beat the radio to tiny pieces and i couldn't care less what they are wailing on about-allthough it's usually laydeez/guys-but even if they were talking sense it would still make my ears bleed. So maybe i'm as small minded-yikes
