I didn't really get stressed. My wife took care of most of the details. I just helped with the menu, hall, and music. I mean, I was certainly stressed about taking the plunge, but the details are pontless. It's all over in a matter of hours. You plan and plan and plan for days and months, just to go to church, eat dinner and get ripped with your family and friends. You wake up the next day and wish you would have saved at least an extra grand for extra cash on the honeymoon. Don't spend a lot on the day. Save it for your honeymoon or a home. It all adds up in the end. We tried to not go overboard, and still spent more than we planned. Anyway, just get a tux and have a beer.

Congrats btw!

A tux and some fly bow tie and waist tightening apparatus.

I got stressed, but mostly let the mrs. handle her priorities. The most stressful part was planning the honeymoon. And once we got there, it was no more worries.

Now, 2 kids later, the dumbest thing I ever did was wait to marry her -- should have gotten over the fear of it sooner.

oh if the wedding is before 5pm, then you really aren't supposed to wear a tux, at all, or specify a black tie dress code.

There are so few opportunities in life to wear a tux. A wedding is a special event that hopefully only happens once in your life.

i dunno who ann landers is but im guessing some kind of etiquette expert? if so, listen to her!

tuxs are so fucking boring though, and most guys look laughable in a bow tie.
get a suit that suits (lol) YOU and not what a billion other men have worn to their weddings.

Tux, definitely. Anything else looks like you're not really trying.

Why do people spend so much time and energy planning the wedding but not the marriage?

I think my fiancee is going wear a tux. I'm excited, I've never seen him in one. I love it when he dresses up. I always thought I liked a blue collar kind of guy but when he wears a suit to work he's always a few minutes late and arrives with messy hair ;)

If he wears a tux at the wedding the honeymoon will be...

He's helping me by the way. If he weren't we'd be getting married in Vegas (which is what I wanted to do anyway, *sigh*).

All i had to do was show up in a tux, and i went to the food tastings. I didn't give a shit about anything else and didn't have to do anything else.

Congrats. to all of you engaged folks.

Why do people spend so much time and energy planning the wedding but not the marriage?

Because to those who haven't been married, they view marriage as the wedding. They have no idea what the day after and forever feels like...

It's nicer to think about flowers and dresses/tux or no tux...
