Yeah, people are weirded out to hear about a dude who prefers to sit down. I don't know... I don't get why it should be an issue. It's a non-issue.

Just because you can do something (pee standing up), doesn't mean you should or have to. Besides, this way you never have to hear complaints about leaving the toilet seat up.

But I'm really good at remembering to put that down too on the rare occasion I stand to go.

Ah yes, paruresis as it is known. I used to have this, it was really annoying. I still get it to a certain degree, but being in the Army, you kinda have to overcome it or you'll never piss again.

So I just went in the men's bathroom. As I entered, I could see that one of the stalls was occupied. I went to the urinal and just froze.

Usually if this happens, I'll go ahead and flush so if the person has seen me, they don't necessarily know that I had shy bladder. Today, being
on vicodin, I decided "fuck that" and figured I'd post something pretty embarrassing on a message board. :)

I have a shy bladder under the following conditions:

Crowded restroom with lines at the urinals -- I hate feeling rushed.
Obviously, if someone starts talking to me.
If someone is talking on the phone.

To overcome, I just stand there. If you stand there long enough, you'll usually go pee. I also will wait for a stall, but still stand up in there.

I, too, prefer sitting down but the reason to stand up is public restrooms. There are lots of reasons not to sit down there. But at home, there is no good reason.

I never had a shy bladder when I used to drink. Once I got flowing, I pee'd like the energizer bunny.

I have a shy bladder too and everytime we had a piss test in the army, there would be someone standing right next to you. Literally watching your dick piss into the cup to make sure you're not putting anything in it.

We always had suprise piss tests too. Alot of times I've almost overhydrated myself just so I can piss.

i piss first thing in the morning, sometime in the afternoon and then one last time before i go to bed. but i piss like a liter at a time. if anyone is outside the bathroom while im pissing they usually start laughing or have a comment for me when i get out because of how long i piss at once and it's very audible.

I remember the times in the mid-east. Drinking litres after litres of water every hour and not having to piss once cause I ended up sweating it all out.

Now if I drank water like that I'd be pissing every 5 minutes.

i used to piss a lot in short bursts but since becoming a dad - i can go for ages without but when i do it takes forever and other dads i know have confirmed this also. I dunno why it is that dads piss for longer - might be something to do with not being able to go as much and training the bladder or summat.
