I broke a tooth a week or so ago.
This in and of itself wasn't such a big deal.
But today I went to get fitted for a crown, and they did all that business of filing down the old tooth to a peg and everything, then stuck a lump of plasticine in there and told me to come back in 2 weeks for the proper crown. Everything was fine - I felt nothing, the whole procedure was really easy.
Now that the anaesthetic has worn off completely however IT IS A WHOLE OTHER STORY. Fuck me, is this painful. There's sort of a general dull ache, which is annoying, but not a real problem - it is the random, excruciating nerve pain that shoots up into my jaw anytime my tongue brushes the plasticine, or when I swallow, or breathe, or think about swallowing or breathing. Fucking hell. Ow. Ow. Ow.
