From CNN: (http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/28/plaza.explosion/index.html)

(CNN) -- At least six people were injured in an explosion at a small strip mall in the Chicago suburb of Waukegan, and authorities were
searching the rubble for anyone who may be trapped, a witness said, quoting Waukegan police.

An explosion was reported at a shopping plaza in Waukegan, Illinois, on Thursday.

The Associated Press, also quoting police, said at least six people were injured.
Nick Alajakis of the Lake County News-Sun said police told him five people were taken to a hospital.
Their conditions weren't known.

The cause of the explosion is unknown.

Peoples Gas was at the scene to turn off the gas, he said.

why is it all the wacky mass homicide shit happens in the suburbs, yet suburbanities always tout the safety of their communities?

yeah, funny about the whole "safety in the suburbs" thing. i grew up in the suburbs, and i probably got into more shit, just because i grew up in a comfortable situation, brainwashed by videogames, bored, ditching school all the time, with access to any drug i wanted, any day of the year, including my parents alcohol....garage-hopping, fights, burglary, arsen, drugs...i didnt kill anyone though. but still i dont think where i grew up was any safer than the cities. there werent big gang problems, but there were rich kids who think the world owes them something, and who had money and time on their hands to get into trouble and get out of trouble with a slap on the wrist.
bunch o shitheads in the burbs.
