So fat chance that I'm going to get much work done today, cause I'm too stoked about seeing George tonight.

It's being recorded for HBO. but I'm a bit confused...cause there are two shows as I understand it tommorrownight is airing LIVE on HBO. So I guess tonight they are filming it for...the DVD, or they are going to splice the two night together?

ah anyway. it's going to be cool. the last time I saw Carlin live, I was 13 years old.

I hope you haven't read his books. I went to see him a few years ago, and it was pretty much just him reading from his books. Ther was maybe 2 joke sequences I've never heard before.

But if it's being taped for HBO, I would hope that it's new material.

And they're probably taping both shows, so that when the DVD comes out, they can cut and paste the two together.

will do. I know they are going to be mega strict about camera cell phones, other wise I would sneak some footage and send it. I was able to get some of Willie Nelson when I saw his show last year...but that wasn't being filmed. The tickets have pretty explicit instructions about cell phones and we have to be in our seat by 7:30. No late admission. aparently we can't get up once we are seated, so i don't know how drunk I'll be during the show...I don't want to have to peeeee!

Carlin was good shit last night. the only draw back was, since it was being filmed they pretty much stuck to exactly an hour set. and one hour went by FAST. great new material on death and stuff. (y)

Wha? He covered that theme last performance. I think it was called "Life is Worth Losing".

Although it's Google Video, it's actually Audio Only

George Carlin - New Stand-up:
Narcotics Anonymous World Convention, San Antonio (08/31/2007)

"George Carlin performing at the Narcotics Anonymous World Convention, San Antonio, tx. George performes his latest material, which he will ... all » use for his 14th HBO special to come out in March 08, infront of 4000 recovering addicts. The 2008 HBO special will be titled "It's Bad For Ya".

This is an Ipod recording so expect to hear some loud clapping, laughter and coughing. But it is surprisingly good audio for an Ipod recording. "

i saw his new special on hbo, and didn't think it was very funny at all. lately he just seems to be a cranky old man in his act.

Ehh, I'm not too big a fan of Carlin. He relies on his edginess, and that ship sailed years ago. It's hard to carry shock value these days......other than appearing like a corpse with a ponytail.
