well she replaced the original Becky like midway through the show.
the original was played by Alicia Goranson (http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/2726590.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF1934A2752006EF5F0ED94925E36638D6B8D 5A5397277B4DC33E) who really doesn't look like the rest of the family either. but Sarah does kinda look like Alicia. but I don't remember an adoption angle in the Rosanne script at all.
